Every time I see Dylan Harper do some baller a$$ sht on the court, I just wonder how the hell Rutgers didn't make the NCAAT with him and Ace. I would bet on Pope reaching the Final 4 with that team.
Having Wemby is almost unfair. It’s like those old video games where you could set your own custom players skill levels.
Shows how much the game has changed. No way would Shaq, Duncan or Dream allow themselves to be checked by a 6’3 guard. They would park his little *** on the box and punish OKC over and over again.
And Wemby still puts up a 40/20 game lol. Thats how freakish he is.

My parlay just failed because SGA could not reach 25 pts... in a game he played 51 mins. Crazy thing is-- that was the "sure thing" of the parlay (-500 odds). I am NOT feeling positive towards him at all RN.
Yeah Shai alternate points have been kind of scary lately .
I've seen Caruso give Jokic fits before too. He's just an unreal defender.

Could be a coaching issue I’m not sure . No way should the Jokic or Wembys allow him to have much success . Spurs figured it out some late

It might just be effort and mentality. Caruso knows hes never going to be the star, so he might just be going out there thinking "let me spend the entire 40 minutes making it a living hell for their best player". Not a lot of NBA stars have that mentality, but every team could use a guy like that.
I still like OKC to win the title. I’m a life long Knicks fan and I don’t think we can beat either of the Western Conference teams, unfortunately.
Game 1 was even better than what we hoped for. Wemby is a pure monster out there that alters everything. His time, as early as it is for this Spurs team, may have suddenly come. Right before our eyes. We'll remember this shot. The one thing is, he may be as great inside as the greatest of all the greats - but when he rises for a 3 point shot, and he can drain them .... that is the difference between him and the others : Kareem, WILT, Shaq ... all of them. It's great to see our age finally get a dominant player like Wemby. He seems as game altering as Wilt was in his time.
I'm somehow sticking with the thundercats to overcome it. In 7 epic games, of which, this to me, was a perfect first game between these two teams.
If you like basketball in the slightest, then this series is must see TV.
I hope all the teams continue to raise each other's skill and play A+, regardless of who wins. This is the NBA's final four, and we couldn't have asked for a better conference finals both ways.

Wemby just has to stay healthy for the long haul. I always worry about that frame, someone rolling up into those string bean legs.
He might want to honestly think of taking a year off or two during his career just to preserve his longevity. Like if he has a nagging injury, and the spurs are sort of in a transition year or two, just shut it down. I know fans would hate to see someone just take a year off, but I dont think his frame is gonna hold up for a long career and im totally fine seeing a generational player take a year off if it ultimately keeps him on the floor longer.
Speaking of, ill try and find it, but I saw an interesting video where theres some correlation between these lower body injuries and the sport becoming a 1-foot game in the last 15 years. In the sense of the eurostep, the step back 3, the insane acrobatic movements these players do laterally. And how that in the 90s and before, the NBA was much more of a 2-footed game. Idk, seemed interesting in theory.

I think the greatest thing about Wemby and what separates him from other great big men is that he is elite offensively and defensively. He changes the game on both ends of the court.
He really is a fierce competitor too, I learned watching the game last night.
Might be a bit of rambling here but ya spurs are about to hit their stride with the ridiculous youth on their roster so they prob have a good 3-5 year window and have to bank on good draft picks like okc has done.
There’s so many awkward moves and landings it’s no wonder there’s so many random ankle injuries tweaks etc.
the one foot thing is kinda like your mom with a nagging injury and puts all the stress on the other to compensate which has a domino effect and affects something else because it’s not used to the extra stress.

Cavs with a massive choke job in MSG, blowing a 20+ point lead ? And it still went to OT, so another dandy of a game, this time in the East.
Once the Knicks got going, they really looked impressive. Outscoring them 44 - 11 .... last 7 minutes in 4th qtr. thru OT. WOW !
The Cavs cannot, absolutely cannot, let a lead like that get away to lose a game in this series.... especially at New York. Cavs looked gut punched at the end of 4 tonight.
more NBA action and drama resuming tomorrow, a "must win???" game for OKC ?

I don't understand the Knicks hate, but whatever. I can't pretend to understand the rooting interests of Kentucky fans outside of UK basketball. Maybe it's a politics thing, IDK.
I think the Knicks are a feel-good story, a fanbase that has been dying for a title for like 40 years. NYC is the mecca of basketball. For my part, I think the Knicks hate is just me, personally, growing up in the area and knowing Knicks fans. Doesn't extend to anything else.
I live in central NJ now, so it's Sixers-Knicks split, and the Sixers got destroyed so hard it was sad.
I personally don't have a pro team -- when I do follow the league, I follow certain players that I like. For example, the Jason Williams and C-Web Kings, the Yao-McGrady Rockets (I think you are a Rockets fan IIRC?), and now, the Wemby-Fox-Harper-Castle Spurs. Maybe a bit of frontrunning -- guilty as charged.
As long as Wemby stays healthy, they are the team to beat over the next 8-10 years. If they can land a strong 4 this year with their 20th pick (Morez, Quintnance, Cenac), they are going to be unstoppable. Lot's of good value at that pick, also have 3 early second rounders that should have some value. Not sure they could keep them all.

Since you decided to shoehorn a dig at Curry, let me get you up to speed. Curry has two MVPs and four titles. Curry has fundamentally changed the game, gets no calls, and is still doing it at 38. Curry also OWNED Wemby in November to the tune of 95 points in two ROAD wins against San Antonio. Wemby also gets away with a ton of fouls (but so does OKC). Steph would win ring after ring if he had the talent that Wemby has around him.
