County sheriff In Arkansas, Todd Wright, reportedly was caught on camera using racist remarks because he was upset his wife was speaking to a black man at a store... He felt embarassed...

I'm sure that the 99% "good" officers he works with had no idea he had these feelings.
I feel sorry for the next black man he ran into.

Actually, in a world where the finalization of accusation necessitates actual evidence, your inferences don't matter and can be largely relegated to the realm of mere conjecture. Anything beyond the actual evidence means nothing. If you want to paint a portrait of our country being one that features tens of millions of secret klansman, then the joke is on you and your simple-minded naivety.

No my friend Milwaukee refused to play then the nba postponed. Also why in the hell would the nba postpone? Who shuts down their business for no reason? Is this the new coronavirus world? We just shut down now because we don’t like something? Please. There were 20 murders in Chicago last weekend no one does a damn thing about that.
It was still the NBA’s decision to postpone. Milwaukee didn’t get to make the decision to postpone it. The NBA could have decided to go with a forfeit, instead the NBA chose to postpone. Educate yourself fool.

I'm done with the NBA.They can do what they want to in their own time but now watching a game they shove their beliefs in our face.
Interesting. Most on this board are Christians, I would assume. We continually have their beliefs slapped in our faces on a daily basis rather we want it or not. I don’t see you complaining about that.

These games have been fun,now this is gonna wipe away what has been a great few weeks of games. If I wanted to make a choice to watch agenda driven ******** I would watch cnn or fox news. Where does this **** stop this year, you know if the election don't go thier way they gonna do the same thing riot and burn and destroy properties. What's happened to this country.
It will stop when people like you begin to accept the fact that progress needs to be made in regards to racial relations instead of burying your head in the sand and acting like everything is OK.

The funny thing is, LeBron actually thinks they’re punishing someone with their walkout. I wouldn’t be surprised, when the NBA does come back, if ratings aren’t through the floor going forward. They’re not punishing anyone but themselves, idiots!!!
You don’t know how sports work, do you?

Who else stands to lose a lot of money? A lot of people who are frankly more powerful than the players. Such as the owners of the teams, who are in powerful positions in other industries. The TV networks like ESPN and ABC, which is owned by arguably the biggest and most powerful entertainment company in the industry in Disney, and TNT, which is owned by one of the most powerful telecommunications and entertainment companies in the industry in AT&T/WarnerMedia. Then add in the advertisers and sponsors as well.

Back to reruns of Justified,or Yellowstone I guess, this is a mess.I don't think these guys really believe giving up the playoffs for somebody they believe is an innocent black guy getting shot is gonna bring about change. I read on here before as someone said play stupid games win stupid prizes. NBA needs to think long bout this because some of us might not tune back in for a while.Problem is NFL is gonna do the same thing. Watching sports is definitely getting harder to do. Atleast they can't take music from us.
You must not listen to the lyrics then.

Maybe they shouldn't be od'ing on fentanyl and have weapons in their cars. Making better decisions goes a long way toward not getting shot. NBA is completely and totally meaningless. Most Americans don't even know they're playing. Even if they do, they don't miss it.
I haven't watched a single minute of a NFL game in 3+ years. Don't miss it and got lots of family time back. Priorities FTW.
Thoughts and prayers to your family.

Stop breaking the law and you don’t have to worry about the cops.
The people in Breonna Taylor’s house weren’t breaking the law (at least not for why the cops went into their house for), that didn’t stop the cops from breaking into their house and murdering her.

For a bunch of posters who "don't care about the NBA," some of you are getting really worked up about it. If you don't care, why should it matter if the players didn't play yesterday? And saying "I would get fired if I didn't go to my job" is a little different. You are a much more easily replaced than world-class athletes. Lots of unions stage walkouts/strikes to make change (I realize this is slightly different, as it isn't the NBA work condition that needs to change). Also a bunch of white people complaining about black athletes standing up for something they believe in is a little tone-deaf.

That being said, I think resuming is the right thing. Ending the season would have been worse, as their platform to discuss these issues would have been gone (besides Twitter). They wouldn't have the games, their jerseys, BLM on the floor, postgame interviews, etc. It would have been counterproductive to what they want.

It would also have financially impacted the league and the players. If they want to make a difference, not only use their platform, but take the money they are going to make in the playoffs and put it to use, something that can really make a change. They were ready to give that money up by not playing, so it only makes sense to donate it to the cause.
Because they wouldn’t be true white conservatives if they weren’t complaining about racial identity matters! That seems to basically be a requirement to be a white conservative these days.

What would happen if I refused to go to work every time something political happened that I disagreed with?

The NBA no longer exists to me moving forward.

I guess there goes the greatest night for UK every year - draft day.
Yeah but your easily replaceable as a burger flipper at McDonalds

Just to look at this " well we did something" type of thing .. Turning arenas into voting booths ? How about we turn corn silo's into booths in Mid America ? Dont want those farmers driving to far .. the point on voting ? in 2020 if you want to vote its BEYOND easy .. its effortless , and turning arenas into voting booths sounds like a suggestion from Nancy Pelosi. When shes drunker than usual.
If it’s so easy, then why were largely minority communities having to face waiting in line for several hours for primaries, not even a general election but primaries, because the states removed most of their polling places? Not everyone can afford to be off work for several hours.

That's what happens when people with $100M contracts try to relate to, and think they know, the real world. Similar to Hollywood. Hard to see the ground from on top of ivory castles, so you rely on the media to be your binoculars.
Most NBA players grow up in the inner cities living the real world, unlike many of these snowflake white conservatives who like to say they live in the real world from their suburban homes.

Until the NBA and Lebron James are held accountable for accommodating communism, oppression, and child slavery world wide, I will never touch an NBA game again.

Unlike Lebron, I care about worldwide oppression. I care about the damage he’s causing black youth in America. I care about the 7 year old getting paid nothing to make his shoes.

I don’t care about his fake crusade designed to do nothing more than take the attention off of himself for being such a POS human being.
So how many schools have you founded to help impoverished students like LeBron has done? How many college scholarships have you funded, like LeBron has helped fund 2,300 scholarships to Akron University? Just a couple examples.

I'm demanding an apology from LeBron. I still don't care about the league anymore, but I'm demanding an apology from him. Mainly because I'm petty and the en vogue thing to do now is demand apologies and then reject them. I want that opportunity.

To all the 'real' people that are affected by what is going on (ie. the non-rioters, non-looters, non-arsonists, non-anarchists), I genuinely feel for. The peaceful protesters. I want things to be better for them. All these other clowns can take a long walk off a short pier.
But no one cares about your demands.

The thing is, we are already looking out there at what is going on everyday. You can't get away from it. They're not adding to me recognizing the problem in any way. It's already in my face all day every day. It's on the news, on talk radio, in the papers, it's online, hell, it's ouside our front doors in some cases. We already see what's going on. I don't need more of it being shoved down my throat. We already see it.
Just because you look and hear doesn’t mean you’re actively listening to what you hear and understanding what you’re seeing though. It’s like the person who reads a poem and says they didn’t like they way it sounded without even trying to understand what it’s saying. I mean if you do try to understand what’s happening and being said and don’t agree with it, that’s one thing. But many are just take everything at face value without trying to understand it. If they can’t relate to it from personal experience, must not be true and they dismiss it like these people are just being whining babies.

The guy is worth like $1B. Pretty sure percentage wise, LBJ isn't really giving that much more (probably less) than the average person with a charitable heart. Also, what does he do for the kids making his gear in sweat shops? You think he's a saint for championing a cause you agree with, while condoning that only some lives and some human rights matter. He's not a saint, he's a hypocrite that didn't want to lose any of the money you're so pleased with him about.

Strange that I'm black and have had no trouble with cops.Of course I haven't been accused of sex crime or robbery.
Neither was Breonna Taylor, but guess what happened to her? Cops broke into her house, which was the wrong house and the person they were looking for was already in custody, and they murdered her.

Answer the question. But I guess you want to avoid it because you can’t truly admit to doing anything to help these people you say you care about, just want to say a bunch of alphabet soup to make yourself feel good. Sad!

I don't think any think that doesn't look like the majority is accepted. I hope that the parents of current and future recruits come to this site before deciding on their kids' college choices. I think the things that have been allowed to stay posted on this site has reached an all time low.

Sure. That doesn’t justify white cops breaking into someone’s house and killing them in their sleep though.

How come the left keeps leaving out the very important fact that her boyfriend fired first? Its awful what happened, maybe the cops went in a little more afraid than if it was some white guy in the burbs. But you can't riot over that. Its not some HUGELY racist crime (being scared in a black neighborhood, seperate issue).

You cant keep losing your **** everytime a black gets killed by a white. George floyd? Those white hicks that went vigilante? Sure. I get that.

I'm just telling you, half the country is not going to stand by when a criminal is killed, to watch their city burn. All the while those rioters ignoring the black on black killings in their own neighborhood. Regardless if thats right or wrong. It rings very hallow. I'm simply explaining, its pissing off half the country and is likely just dividing the country further. And my prediction is that this will ultimately push AAs backwards.

So basically you are saying that if your father is guilty of domestic violence it is ok if the police kills your unarmed brother because your family didn't prevent your father from committing a crime. Wow!! That is some crazy logic.

I wouldn't riot and make it out to be a racist crime. But I would be pissed and want answers.. Again, its a cop issue that we have, not a racist one. They are kicking the doors down of white criminals in trailer parks every day.
