Has to get passed first.

He said today he's considering increasing capacity.

I wish you all put as much energy into the fact the schools have operated on a 2018 budget for almost 3 years into wanting to see a football game.

I'm sure the NCGA will exempt charters from having to follow any capacity increase. They're being exempted from all other legislation.

A percentage makes the most sense. Too much difference in capacity from one stadium to another. Even too much difference between home and visitors side in many stadiums.

100 in most stadiums is far too few. But 100 in some baseball or softball bleachers is too many.

Exactly. It needs to be percentage based. Big difference in somewhere like Bishop Mcguiness and Alleghany vs somewhere like Wilkes Central or Swain.

A good portion of baseball and softball fields don't even have permanent seating or more than a handful of bleachers. A good majority probably don't even have 100 spectators show up.

He should have went ahead and gave the proposed number. You know it has already been decided. Now it will be up to schools last minute to regroup for games on Friday.

Even ACC men’s and women’s basketball tournaments will have no public ticket sales. Family members and guests of players only.
I feel sure that Governor Cooper has a number or percentage in mind. But he’s also smart enough to know that he’s just a variant or Super Bowl spike away from having to go backwards. He’ll wait until closer to the EO expiration date to announce. Once announced, almost impossible to retract. Like him or hate him, this governor won’t be swayed by a petition. If the chance of losing an election didn’t affect him, that certainly won’t.
Have no idea or inside info, but I’ll be surprised if it’s forty percent.

We are still playing with fire and people still don't get it. The first games are what next week? He'll probably have a presser again next week. So he could announce it then of course.

He waited till opening week of home games for the college venue----if he does anything I expect it to be some percentage as was done for college in which I think that number will be way lower than we are thinking or hoping. If he doesn't address visiting teams then I would expect the NCHSAA to place a small percentage of that number to be associated with such---i.e. very similar to 31's post with college basketball. Hoping for something to change but not holding my breath.

We’re playing with fire putting up with all this nonsense. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that 2 parents could attend a basketball game safely. Honestly all these people keeping us safe, I guess we’re not smart enough to keep ourselves safe? I guess we can’t evaluate risks, then make decisions?

Your risk is lessened if you are wearing a seatbelt, driving the speed limit, and not on your cell phone. Your risk is even less if the car you pass is doing the same. There are regulations to keep you safe in a car.

Indeed. I was talking to one of my friends about it the other day and he brought Bishop up because we used to play there.. that's a whole different world from even what 2A's around here have.

Just hope the overall plan is thought up fully and not a way to get an easy win for one side or another. I don't see Roy signing it anyways; he's a lame duck and doesn't have much to lose.

Please don’t use smart and Gov Cooper in the same sentence.

I do think, even though not published, that he is getting some heat even from his fellow Democrats. He will increase it, just how much is yet to be determined.

I mean the bill to reopen schools was bipartisan. So I'd say that is the case. Especially from some that could be vulnerable next year.

I wear my mask. I follow the rules. I guess my problem with it is they’re saying you can’t drive your car hypothetically speaking. It’s pretty simple wear your mask, don’t go out if your feeling poorly, don’t go to the nursing home, stay 6 feet apart if possible, but to limit basketball to 25 people in gyms that seat a couple thousand has been crazy

I know you do. Unfortunately the ones like us that follow the expectations get pubished by the jerks that can't.

I've said all along that gym space should have been a percentage as well. A

Figures....thanks
He typically has made extensions or adjustments to existing EO’s. This executive order doesn‘t expire until after Friday, plus many games have been moved to Thursday.
