Hewitt's buyout was substantial and Grant makes 1.8. I doubt Tech can match Bama's $$. Plus, Bama has been a good program and can be again.

UGA's resources will prove to be an obstacle to NC St. Also, is today's ACC really any better than the SEC?

lateral moves as I see it. NCState was good in the 80's under Valvano. GTech was good in the 80's n 90's n briefly in the 2000's. Today Alabama and Georgia are currently better off than those two schools. I could see Fox and Grant using this as leverage to get extended contracts but not likely to jump to a slightly worse job than they already have. Oh and yes the ACC is better (#4) than the SEC (#7) but that's really because Duke and UNC carry them and Auburn and LSU weigh us down this year. Interesting to note MSU rated as 3rd worst team this year in the SEC by Sagarin behind USC, OM, and UPig.

If you want to talk SOS / RPI then yeah I could see that - but we were 5-0 against those teams and finished ahead of them in the SEC standings. Sagarin's a dumbass.

Ignore everything you have previously read here on this board. Rick Stansbury is an outstanding coach and will work wonders for your program.

the NC State AD said most of her targets are still in tournament play and their search may take some time.

There is a feeling among some of the people here in NC that NCSU's primary target is Sean Miller at Arizona. He has some ties to Raleigh. Whoever gets the NC State job will walk into a lot of talent. Sidney Low was the ACC "recruiter."
