The B1G had 8 bids. No way the committee was going to hand us 9. Losses to Temple and Minnesota hurt us. Win those games and we’re in.

Sounds like they counted us out after the Mag injury based on the chairman
the guys's trying to make excuses but getting caught in the details. If he's saying they dropped us out because of Mag injury and having all the quad 4 losses then he should be discounting losses early in season when we were without starters. So either you care that there were injuries and it means something or it doesnt.

All else being equal, a win in the controversial game vs OSU would have gotten us in. Got screwed.

The Big has 9 teams in. It looks like the committee does not want as many from 1 conference again. Maybe it would be different if the Big10 performed better in the tournament the last 2 years.

Shitting the bed in a couple games doesn’t define the resume.

Our resume from top to bottom is significantly better than multiple teams that got a bid over us.

This is called the committee put a B1G cap of 8 teams due to lack of success in the tournament. PSU’s BTT run screwed us.
I agree the committee sucks *** and we deserve to be in.
RU gave them the opportunity to screw us and they took it.

Take away the opportunity.

Agree on the numbers game with B1G teams. Didn't help us @ all.

Unfortunately wins over Penn st and Nw and short handes Indianan are not big enough wins to offset bad Q3 losses.

Bad losses are a no-no and it’s because they’re statically worse than small margin wins and losses in Q1 Q2

Yes, I heard the committee chair say that on Saturday when discussing how the top seeds were determined. i didn't know that was a factor. Doesn't seem fair.
I had no idea as well until he utter it. They also counted bad losses more than good wins. NC ST. 1-6 in Quad 1. So basically, it doesn't matter who you beat where, just don't lose to who you aren't supposed to lose to. Scheduling had nothing to do with being left out if they're going to put NC St. and Neveda in over us.

Hope the NIT still takes us because Mag will still be out, Paul may only have one good eye, Caleb back not 100% etc etc…….. Horsesh*t

Not a neutral though.

A home against Sparty, for a quad 2 win.

That’s the difference.

Our AD should have had a fit when it was announced as a home game.
Well, we want to be considered NYs team when it comes to media rights & conference relevance, but not scheduling big games.

We had weak OOC schedule and a few bad losses that really cost us. Stinks it was from experienced team. Hope the guys remember this for future games to come.

How hard is it to understand how bad Q3 losses are? You can’t have that many unless your quality wins are significant. Last year we got the benefit of the doubt and we’re an outlier profile to get in.

We were the only team in the B1G to not play in a holiday tournament. I’m not saying that’s the answer, but it wouldn’t hurt as a start.
Thought I read Pike tried to get a few teams but no one wanted to play us. Again could be wrong

We definitely got tipped off though. Which is weird because Pike sounded cheerful on the FAN earlier.
Pike is not one to pout. He'll use this as an opportunity to teach the guys about being the master of your own destiny and not ***** when you fail to.

One of the reasons I love the guy.

Life isn't fair. He grew up in a big family like me. You learn fair doesn't mean ****. Stand up for yourself. Or don't... It's up to you.

Turning page to the NIT. Let’s rally around the team here. Xavier did win the NIT last year… look where they are now. Obviously sickening what just happened but I look forward to the team trying to win an NIT championship.

Injuries experienced during the season vs. player availability for the tournament are different.

NC State being in is a screwjob to sanity.

Them over you guys is pretty embarrassing for the committee. Nobody can defend that with a straight face.
But NC State beat Duke. It doesn't matter that Duke couldn't hit the ocean from the beach then. I feel bad for the folks here and elsewhere who actually try to scientifically figure out brackets. Just accept certain things are skewed a certain way (ie UNC 3rd out haha).

That's like taking second at a pie eating contest. You still feel sick to your stomach but without the prize.

Sucks for us. How do you think Clemson feels? They beat NC St 3 times. All double figures with two 20+ point wins. That’s laughable too. Cannot leave it up to the committee.

i guess. separately though, he just said on espn that they never turned it around after the injury and thats why the injury excuse kept them out which is a complete head scratcher. then said they had chance to win early on in non-conf which is when they also had injuries. and if they really meant what they said, then Houston cant be a 1 seed if their top player is not even playing at this point.

Goes against people trying to say there is no recency bias and the entire schedule is what counts in total. If that’s true it shouldn’t matter that we lost after an injury shortly before the tourney, no?

Xavier fired their coach last year because they went to the NIT . What a terrible example

Do you really follow college BB?
Xavier made the tournament this year because they hired Sean Miller after missing the tournament in 2022.
