I wonder if Mr Paycom has been helping with their NIL? He spoke about raising competition across the board across the state.
I believe he used to donate to OU but a falling out is partly what lead to him moving his funds to OSU. I have even heard he pitched Taylor as OU coach but couldn't get anyone to take it seriously at the time

Most highly successful people are. I am sure that he is hyper focused and that comes off weird. If he wants to support OU wrestling as well that is great. I am pretty confidant that he does not want to be the only OSU wrestling supporter.

Hipolito to OU

Really surprised he left Virginia Tech. VT to OU is quite a step down. Was he looking for a pay day? Was rumored to be going to Maryland which is also puzzling. His match with Fish was really good but I watched several of VT’s duals and went to the one against NC State. I think he may have been banged up but his offensive action was very low/limited.

Mineo said Penn State tried to get AJ as a heavyweight. I wonder if he turned them down based on $$

It’s honestly a better fit!
In all fairness, I said I can’t imagine a legit D1 program taking him. But, the all mighty dollar speaks loudly. The allure of a plug and play champ is great, he talked a lot about Nebraska’s culture, which is very good. Hope fast twitch culture doesn’t clash too hard

I don’t think that’s fair man.

There’s nothing really against him that’s criminal. He was charged, it was dismissed.

He’s being prosecuted by the public because of his image and accusations combined. If there were no accusations, he would just be an enigma.

Also, much of the time, it’s about the dollar.

Well, it’s more the self absorption and super ego. He may have changed more than what he was at the soldier salute, doing the splits and flipping off the fans. Maybe, for one season, one national championship, it’s worth it. 🤷🏼

I’m in the camp that doesn’t buy the “change” and I know there was much more here that went on that’s not public.

I just don’t think it’s a life sentence like some. If he can continue on the current path, it’s worth it. If he can’t, there’ll be backlash…and it’s from now on.

In 20 years, if he has a blow up, it will be Husker headlines.

Do you mean to tell me the guy who “reported” in 2021 (or maybe 2022) that John Smith’s retirement was imminent after NCAAs might be putting out bad info?
minnow is ~50% on his "news" you could flip a coin and be competitive.

Honestly, that’s not accurate.

He may run to the socials first and then things change, but the guy is a good source of info.
Pat definitely has many sources. People would be shocked how many D1 coaches he communicates with . Wrestling doesn't have many people in the know and Pat is definitely one. It hasn't always been this way but it is now

There’s a lot in the know actually. Pat is one of them and he’s responsible for the most part.

He wants to scoop a few guys that know and many guys that know don’t care about scooping anybody for the most part.

There aren't many people in wrestling who communicate with lots of staffs who aren't in the media. Obviously people have friends who work here or there but that's not what Im talking about. Pat doesn't bother me
