Xavier - Pitt to kick things off.

Not sure about these Pitt uniforms...

If Sparty loses to Marquette, Miami-Indiana will determine which power conference will have zero teams make it to the second weekend
Damn you - was just about to post this, lol. ACC looked mediocre at best after the first round, while the B1G looked decent (despite the PU loss), but after yesterday, both are looking pretty bad, and after today, this could very well be the last team left for either. But if any B1G team is battle tested enough to beat Marquette, it's MSU and IU is playing well. We'll see.

I am hoping that both Michigan State and Indiana win today to carry the banner, especially since I will be at MSG next weekend. There is no better March coach than Izzo. I argue with everyone local that the Big Ten is far better than the middle and bottom of the Big East, but at the top it seems clear that the reverse is the clear rule. Creighton scares me with Kalkbrenner and Schiereman and UConn is so freaking deep everywhere. Claude of Xavier came so close to going to Rutgers.

The strength of the Big Ten this year is a solid middle. Other than Purdue no elite teams, and we know what happened to them. If both Sparty and Indiana lose that would be disappointing but if at least one wins the conference isn’t really doing worse than expectations.

To be fair , Izzo has only won 1 NC and that was 20 plus years ago . He’s gotten his lunch eaten on the big stage multiple times. He’s also had some horrific losses as a higher seed like losing to Murray state

Really want to see at least Indiana to win today to protect the reputation of the B1G and to dispense the last chance for the ACC.

MSU/Marquette should be a good one…two great coaches.

I think Creighton meets its match with BU today unless they have one of those games when they bomb three’s. This is the day for Schierman to earn that 500k NIL.

This is the game Rutgers would/should have been in! Upset over Kentucky at the 11, & the toughest (now) remaining game in the East Region. Rutgers would now have a huge crowd & be the arguable favorite to win in MSG. (Duke, Purdue out & Uconn in a different region)

The Notre dame job
In what world is the ND job an upgrade over the UK job, which is at one of the 2-3 greatest programs in the history of college hoops?

KSU-UK was a good game. Nowell really shined in the endgame.

MSU starting off strong against Marquette, especially on D - don't think they've come up against many defenses as good as MSU's this year.
