It’s crazy how high we can be riding as our program has experienced the most success it has in a long time and yet we still are behind Penn St and NW the last 4 years.

Need to make a leap.
??? We beat one team twice and split against the other. We also hold winning records against both programs. Debatably that we are behind them and frankly injuries did us in this year anyway.

Actually definitely not behind them in program building….

Psu focuses on offensive efficiency and therefore they are a danger in march and have a high ceiling. I wish we played their style.

Game 2 Lundy went 1-16 couldn’t hit an open shot.

Game 1 Penn St went 4-26 from 3.

A couple of statistical outliers.
I mean we also pressured the hell out of them, forced long three point shots, didn’t let them get their usual inside chances from Pickett. We didn’t win first game because of luck by any stretch. We dominated them. Second game got lucky Lundy was off, but we also shifted our game plan cause we knew he didn’t have the touch that night and it worked. Both wins were earned and Caleb’s incredible defense on Pickett was the catalyst.

I’m sure it had nothing to do with our defense.
I love this board!!! Now we’re discrediting our wins against PSU.
Does anyone think maybe, just maybe they missed their shots because they felt our pressure and we got them out of their rhythm.

The first meeting we physically kick their butt for 40 minutes winning 65-45. Paul 38 min, Mag 35 min, Cliff 31, Caleb 31, Cam 20 min and Hyatt off the bench for 25 minutes, Woolf, Derek, and Jalen combined for 20 minutes, shot 46%, only 9 TOs, 14 PFs, allowed Penn St 33% FG, only 3 Offensive rebounds, 7 TOs and 17 PFs. It does seem like this kind of effort took its toll on the team come February, especially losing Mag's importance to everything we do.. Mag and Caleb Defensive rating in the game were in the 60s for the game other main four in the low 70s, team defense of 72.6 on 1 site, 69 on T-rank. Mag was averaging 25 minutes, 8.2 pts, 5 rebounds, shooting 52% and 79% from the line, 2nd best on ball defender between Wake Forest and Minnesota(9-3), losses to Iowa x2 and @ Mich St. What could've been. 😞

Unfortunately PSU is running into one of the teams nearly as old and experienced as they are in Texas.

If Funk shoots like he did last night, they're not losing to anyone. Dude couldn't miss.

This is as dumb a comment this week and that's saying something.

NW last made the NCAAs in 2017.

PSU last danced in 2010.

How is either program ahead of RU....did the last 4 years not happen??

Let me know what players are coming back for PSU next year (the answer is almost no one) and if Buie gets a 5th year for NW.

We’ll hard to argue Rutgers is ahead from 2019-2020 to 2022-2023.

Rutgers highest conf finish 4th. Field of 64 twice. 10, 10, 11 seed. Big ten tournament quarters. 1 NCAA win and counting.

Penn St highest conf finish 5th. Field of 64 twice. 5/6 seed, 10 seed. Big ten tournament final. 1 NCAA win and counting.

NW highest conf finish 2nd. Field of 64 once. 10 seed. Big ten tournament quarters 1 NCAA and counting.

Granted these accomplishments may be a better of example of the level of accomplishments Rutgers has made vs program stature. Related though.

Iowa was also a solid old squad that was great from three last year. How did that work out for them? I’ll give you a hint, they lost in the first round from Richmond. The cherry picking of stats and examples is getting exhausting.
I’m more than confident that Pike will change our style of offense when we get the pieces.

Long story short. Be good on offense. Don’t suck at shooting.

PSU last made the NCAAs in 2011....try again.....they did NOT make the NCAAs in your overview above.....you had bad and inaccurate information, yet again.

The two programs are not comparable in any way. Full stop

They were a projected 5/6 seed in covid season. Can’t include that in RUs resume and not Penn St. That was Rutgers best team of the last 4 years so if we take that out it makes ru look worse during this recent down trend.

Frankly… We ran out of gas and Mag getting hurts added too that. We don’t have a deep bench and our starters played a ton of minutes. I’m guessing here but I better their average minutes went up compared to other teams and towards the end of the season it just wears you down. I also started the wrestling season waaay more energized than I was towards the end.

Lol..you said RU only made it twice so you didnt count the covid year...wow
I said Rutgers made the field of 64 twice and listed 3 NCAA tournament seeds which includes 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022. Includes covid year.

Don’t make **** up

We had a disappointing end to the season but future is bright. RU basketball is light years ahead of where it was when Pike took over and headed in the right direction on the recruiting trail.

Just depends on what your measure of success is? Ru in the field 1 time in the last 4 years and made it out of the first round. NW and PSU both in the field and out of the first round with games to be played. As far as players coming back who cares?? PSU is starting 3 portal players including first team all big ten 2nd team all American in Pickett. Recruits are important and fun to talk about but the Portal is critical to success and depth. Clearly we were lacking that this year

What is ?
Psu starting 3 portal player?
Pickett being all big ten 2nd all American
RU making the field 1 time
NW PSU currently in field and out of round 1

I apologize for misrepresenting the facts.
