What about split conferences that only have 2 1A teams. Like the Conference North Moore is in, Chatham Central is the only other 1A team in the conference and they only have 1 win. Will they get seeded as a 2nd place finisher or at-large?
So from my understanding in that conference you would have at least 2 automatic qualifiers due to having 7 teams. They could have three teams automatically qualify if the same classification comes in 1st & 2nc (example if, Cummings and Graham finished 1st & 2nd, and North Moore finished 3rd, North Moore would also qualify since they are the top 1A finisher).
Since Chatham Central will not win their classification (and will not finish 2nd overall), they will not automatically qualify. Right now I believe North Moore and Cummings would be seeded with conference champs in their respective classifications based on their RPI.
North Moore 2-0
Cummings (2A) 3-0
Graham (2A) 1-1
Chatham Central 1-2
Bartlett Yancey (2A) 1-2
Jordan-Matthews (2A) 0-3
Seaforth (2A) 0-0
On a side note: Since Seaforth does not have a football team, not sure if this would count as a 6 or 7 team conference. However, with the standings, it won't make a difference. Both North Moore and Cummings meet the criteria to be seeded with conference champs in their classification.
