Is this the true state of 2A football now? How the mighty have fallen. Newton has not proved an #8 with that schedule. Sorry but we don't.

Honorable Mention:

Surry Central- nobody to play in that area.
West Caldwell- got one player that does it all.
Croatan- wrong forum, wrestling hasn't started
Lake Norman Charter- is the mascot a toy poodle
First Flight- seen it on a license plate
Roanoke Rapids- had to Google it
Pasquatank- had to Google it. Locked up the computer.

C'mon now. I know us people in the northeast sometimes get forgotten about. "Pasquotank". First Flight has a pretty respectable soccer teams. Numerous trips to Regional Finals and State Championships. Bertie has won two state titles in football. Northeastern has been pretty solid under Coach Moore. There is talent up here!

No way Northside Jacksonville should be left out completely. Lost to Clinton and Havelock. I am sure they will work there way back up as the season goes on.

Oh yeah, First Flight soccer. Think they got shut out in a soccer championship by some team called Newton-Conover Red Devils. But I read in the post game HighschoolOT they were so well known they referred to them as the First Flight Nightcrawlers.

I would venture to say at this point Jacksonville Northside is the best 2 loss 2A team out there. Look at who they've played

Its all in fun BigBird. The point is the mighty have fallen to new depths and 2A is overall in the dumps. Bandys went to three finals and ran into Reidville a couple times. Boy they are waaaaay down. N-C has had a tailspin since 2010. Thomasville has been nothing of its former self. Burlington Cummins, do they even field a team? Southwest Onslow was once a juggernaut. South Columbus was always there.

Lake Norman Charter? Oh boy, now that's football. Poodle carrying parents. Next thing you know Lake Mattamaskeet will have a stadium not made of wood decking material. Ever seen that stadium? The deck on my house is bigger than the bleachers and much safer.

Yes I am familiar with that part of the state. I once duck hunted in that area and went to a few games while there. People would look at you funny knowing that you are an outsider. Or maybe it was that I had shoes on. Anyway football here in Catawba County stinks to high heaven and hopefully N-C and Maiden can bring something back to the table in the playoffs. Good luck to Pass go Tank.
