Last year we heard the QB needs to improve, off season, the same thing, and after the first game...still hearing the same thing about QB play. Let's be honest here, this is dude's third season in the system.....and this is as good as he's going to get.
Do you have any idea the number of senior QBs that came out of nowhere to have huge seasons? I'm not at all predicting that but it happens quite a bit.
It does.....but based on what we saw last weekend or at the Spring game, I'm not hopeful that'll happen. I think we know what the current QB is going to perform....

Doege needs better protection but also should be able to move by now. Kendall would have been the better choice but like so many other players leaving Browns system, he is long gone.

How many of those cases that fall into the "quite a bit" category had an opening game against an average opponent where they looked like crap? I understand your point, but I would be willing to bet those that did have good season as an out of no where senior did not start off the season looking every bit as bad as they did 2 years before. I think Doege's opening performance vastly decreases his likelihood of having an above average year.
If you're going to post at least do it with intelligence. Oh wait you don't have any.

Anyone who's watched college football more than 10 years has seen this, they've also seen what a QB cannot "fix" or "get better at"
Skyler Howard had a lot of issues but he could run and he was never rattled under pressure. He also had a system tuned for his abilities. Doege has none of that.
Doege is good at dink and dunk, when his WRs make plays yac and a super clean pocket.
He was going against possibly the worst secondary under Brown in the offseason but all the coaches could tell how improved he was.
Doege will probably look good against this JV team and VT will eat him for a light snack. BET
