Breakout year! I had season tix back in the 90s with Danny Nee and the boys. I've never felt as upbeat about a NU bball team since then, until now. This roster looks solid! Could be the year that saves Miles! Firing of Eichorst benefits TM.

I really hope so, but I was fairly confident a couple times after our last NCAA team, and the bottom falls out. Hope they move the ball and get up the court. There is a TON of talented players.

SE getting canned probably didn't hurt Miles's feelings but a new AD generally wants his guys so Tim had better win this year....although he was a Tom hire so he likely has a job for life.:eek:

Yeah, Tim's out whoever is AD if he doesnt win this year. Just have a gut feeling Timmy survives.

I am betting Tim will be gone this Spring. Does anyone think after the mass exodus of players his team has a chance winning more than half their games?

Huskers have some talent on the roster. If some guys make big strides, they could exceed expectations. But I fail to see how having a new AD is going to benefit Miles. I know it's a popular narrative that Eichorst left Timmy twisting in the wind by not giving him a contract extension last season. But if you're going to hand out an extension to a guy who's in the process of dropping 13 of his last 16 and getting bounced in the play-in round of the Big Ten Tournament by a terrible Penn State team - why not just drop the pretense and make the extensions automatic?

The talent is there now. They need to stay healthy and win. If not.......he's made a lot more money than he did coaching at Northwestern Eastern Central Minnesota.....he'll be fine.

True but I just pointing out that, to me, this looks like the most talented team we have had since Eric Piatkowski etc.
Maybe so, but the We're bringing in great talent discussion has run its course and the talent needs to translate into wins.

So new AD or old AD, I think Miles is pretty much in the same situation. Limp into conference play at or near .500 and finish in the bottom four of the Big Ten, and he's gone. Finish, say, 7th or 8th in the conference and make the NIT, and he might get more time. Do better than that, and he stays.

Hopefully the new AD's first basketball conversation will be with Marc Boehm, and go something like this:

The thing is that Miles will not have a very high bar to exceed this year. Middle of the pack in the B1G and he will look like a miracle worker.
Riley needs to win some big games in conference this year or I'm afraid he is gone. Run the damn ball!

We ran it 60% of the time last week. How'd that go? What we need is another major WR threat (and he got hurt two weeks before our first game) as our vaunted passing game it to way to focused on one guy (Stanley Morgan).

We threw the ball over 40 times in each of the last two games. We have now had 8 games where Nebraska has thrown the ball over 40 times in its history and we are 0 for 8 in those games.;

Miles will be gone after this year. People will show up dressed as empty seats after losing to a couple of teams they should mop up on. The miles charade has worn it's course.

I like when conclusions are foregone. No reason to even watch the football or basketball this season.

I read somewhere based strictly on Rivals ratings that this team for Timmy is the highest rated team he has ever had. Problem is can they jell as a team seeing how most are transfers? Too bad the play an offensive style that has no rhythm or rhyme to it.
