We would have lost this game just about every year until last year. Tried to piss it away in the last couple of minutes.Getting all they can handle tonight from a pretty good Winthrop team.
Hope Essigian can turn it around soon, because if he’s not making threes he’s completely useless.
When Lawrence was a freshman I thought he had the makings of an All-Big Ten guard. He won’t get there this year, but he’s a solid player. Glad he’s back.
So I was curious and Lewis & Clarke’d the interwebs to find out that only the 2023-2024 team and the 1992-1993 team made the NCAA tournament.Since the 1970-71 season, Nebraska has only started a season 7-0 five times.
2025-2026
2023-2024
1992-1993
1984-1985
Nebraska had their best start going 10-0 in 1977-1978.
He was - the most of anyone that played last night.Teams still know he can shoot. Liked what we did with him in there. The charge call on him was terrible.
He’s a streaky shooter. Watch and he’ll have a game where he goes 7 for 8 from 3. Fred knows how it works. He’ll probably end the year in the mid 3Os% from 3 or better. He was - the most of anyone that played last night.

Thanks for the updateEssegian out for the year with an ankle issue. Didn't think it was that bad.
Losing Essegian really stings. Takes a legit D1 shooter out of the rotation, and exposes Fred’s love affair with Nebraska walkons even more. SH and CJ are 5 min/half role players at best for legit tourney contenders. They can hit layups, but are not good shooters and are major liabilities against a press. Mast/Sandfort/Frager are ballers. Imagine how much better they could be with true threats around them…or even a mid-level PG.Didn't watch, but not a very inspiring performance today.
Oh well, next shooter upEssegian out for the year with an ankle issue. Didn't think it was that bad.
Looks like Jacobsen got those minutes today. Blue played 3 minutes. Haven't seen much of him.Oh well, next shooter up
I’m sorry he got hurt, but I don’t think Essegian is really a big loss. Sam was going to play mega minutes anyway, and Jacobson has been holding his own.Losing Essegian really stings. Good to hear. Jacobsen is a solid player too.Looks like Jacobsen got those minutes today. Blue played 3 minutes. Haven't seen much of him.
Idk. He literally disappears for long stretchesLawrence is the PG - he's certainly at least mid level.
PG is not his natural position. And Fred seems to sit him at the end of close games. NU doesn’t have anyone who can reliably handle pressure.Lawrence is the PG - he's certainly at least mid level.
