We like to get out of the hotel for breakfast...anyone know of a good place downtown near the Doubletree to get a good breakfast?

Having said that, Puckett's would be great and really close to you on Church if it's open. If not, there's always Panera right around the corner. I'd try Noshville first though. It's in the Vandy area, but it's great and worth the drive of 2 miles west.

pretty good, but there is no way I am going to stand in line for an hour + to eat. I just think it is ridiculous. I'd rather eat at IHOP than stand in line for such a long time.

Get there early..............no problem
Get there late..................Be prepared to wait, and you will be waiting mostly outside in a long line

Tried out Puckett's Grocery this morning based on the recommendations, and it does not disappoint. Excellent food and friendly staff. This was a Wednesday morning, so it was fairly empty....so I can't comment on the wait time closer to the weekend. Right around the corner from the Doubletree.
