Exactly. When you’re up big, the clock becomes a weapon. Any head coach in the country oughta know you don’t take that snap until the play clock hits 2.
When we were up 17 with 10 minutes to go I said to myself, yep… our offense is about to get stupid and Wingo is about to go off.

We could have went into victory formation and burned at least 6 minutes with 11ish minutes to go. That also gives your defense a breather.

Yeah. As much as we want to blame a play here or a play there. The fact is our offense completely disappeared in 2nd half except for 2 big plays. Our defense got left on the field & wore down. That Texas OL that looked like Pisgah for 3 quarters looked like Philadelphia Eagles in the 4th.

Sark is a moron, and I wonder if he’s drinking again. he could have run the ball down our throats.
Look at the Georgia - Ole Miss game and the Bama - South Carolina game. And then our game. A superior team toying with an inferior team for the sake of TV ratings.

It is like WWE when the top favorite wrestler gets off the mat and finishes out the nobody that has been whoopin him all match. Crowd loves it.

Based on what I’m seeing with Texas NIL funding and the personnel and performance, Sark is absolute dog ****, he could not win more than 3-4 games a year in Starkville. Most housewives could sign a better LOS out of the portal than Sark. They have unlimited funding, what is the major malfunction there ? Guy is awful

Elko is making this abundantly clear, too. uTexas fans here know they're going to get squashed by aTm.

Texas Tech would destroy Texas in Austin this year. West Texas oil-NIL money is better than what Texas has?

All those running fast 3 and outs 17ed our defense and it showed in the 4th quarter.

Joey Maguire is just so so, high school coach motivator. Tech invested heavily in O line, D line and has a great defense. They are run much better than UT, I’d fire Sark tomorrow if I was Ad at Texas. What a bum that guy is. And the national media tries to blame Arch, lol. no qb could look good behind that o line. sarks play calling is also awful.

The significance of shortening the game wasn't even lost on Leach at State. By year 2 (don't recall when, exactly), he sort've flipped to the dink and dunk "ball control" offense and started dominating time of possession.

I was watching yesterday with my middle son and enjoying the hell out of being up 17 in the 4th--and knew they'd let them come back. Hated feeling that way, but I graduated in 94 and have seen too much disappointment in football.

Burn clock. The announcers were even saying stuff like "live by tempo--die by tempo" (paraphrasing).

I haven't rewatched the game. But it seemed to me that Texas starting blitzing 6-7 in the late 3rd and all the 4th. State had no answer for it.

I'm not sure I've seen us throw a screen pass all year.
Every time they've tried, the corner is always on them at or behind the line. Maybe Shapen doesn't get them there quickly enough or doesn't put the throw where it needs to be.
