So we paid the guy 48k as a down payment and he still signed with Auburn. Really, I mean really, who would believe some stupid crap like that. I'm ashamed I even took the time to read it.

That rivals some of the CJ/FLoyd Raven rumors in veracity and believability. Should we all run over there an tell them how they are the new 'OM Spirit'? (please read last sentence with sarcasm intended).

Jesus people... If we were guilty of ANYTHING we wouldn't have told anything to the SEC, much less float the info to the NCAA.

also, i really want to see some more detective work by Shmuley.

i never claimed any of it was believable; just that it was a rumor that is about us and Camgate.

if that is true and we turned in ourselves to the SEC.

but the real thing that kills that is auburn researching and declaring cam eg at the beginning of the year.

Well they made it up over there, you brought it here, now it will be on genes and BDJ within the next 20 minutes. Their mission is accomplished. Now our boards will spend 2 days talking about it. It's amazing how easy that is. Not shooting the messenger, just saying.

Just like CJ Johnson driving his black Mercedes to Sardis Lake to take a ride on his dolphins.

it doesn't seem to hold much water with anything else that we have heard about the entire situation. the ridiculously long threads on Bama and LSU boards never mentioned anything about any of this and this also doesn't coincide with the FACT that we reported the situation. it's funny how some of this stuff comes and goes. i'm not really surprised to see more Camgate crap being thrown around now that recruiting season is finally over with.

it's too bad that we haven't heard anything new about the FBI and Auburn. i'd sure as hell like to see that **** storm come to fruition.

We deserve the death penalty just for being stupid enough to turn it in.

we would deserve every ounce of bad press and punishment we got not for actually paying but for actually being stupid enough to pay and then report the solicitation by Newton. I can't believe the people we have in charge now to be that incompetent so therefore I think it is total and complete bunk.

but didn't Cecil himself say in an interview that he received no money from anybody associated with MSU?.....Don't know ifhis wordwould even matter. I think his lawyer was present, too.

Like I told you, it's bothersome that we made no response to the "probation" ploy they obviously ran on us. But I'm not finding anything out there that remotely suggests an actual payoff from a booster to the pimp. Nothing.

But the lawyer also said that Cecil asked no one formoney. If we gave anything to Cecil should just quit all sports not because we gave the money but because we turned them in. The Ninja would not have been that stupid.

and the entire Newton family was interviewed by the NCAA and would have absolutely had to have said they received no extra benefits from ANYONE or else Cam's rear end would have been immediately suspended.

is the fiddle and the Rebs are Charlie Daniels when it comes to this stuff. Same for the other board. They have played us big time this recruiting season.

more believable since he actually signed with you. For someone to say we spent $48K on a player we never got is really beyond ridiculous.

And do YOU 17n think MSU would have made a peep about the situation if anyone paid? Seriously? Anyone that buys into any rumor that states MSU gave or offered money and the end result is MSU going to the SEC and the NCAA about Cecil asking for money is a complete and total dumbass.

Well, you can. But as Brad Lott proved, you still won't get your money back. Also, end up making an *** of yourself while the recruit laughs on the opposing sideline.

of what really happened. And outside of AU message boards, this is pretty much the dumbest post on the matter I've ever seen.

Cam Newton was on his official visit to Mississippi State that weekend.</p>

Rogers said that he didn't remember the exact words but thatCecil
Newton told the two Mississippi State coaches, whom he would not
identify, that it would take money to get Cam Newton to sign with the
Bulldogs.</p>

Rogers said that one of the coaches said, "No, no, don't want to hear that."</p>
