Maybe but, if true, I’m shocked there’s also no leak over the complete disarray and panic in the athletic director’s office.I’ve got the inside scoop for you. There’s no ******* coach.

So you are saying there is a chance?
Isn’t Chesney getting a big raise with the new job? I agree with you about it being more than money, but at the end of the day, all the Sexton clients linked to PSU got paid, just somewhere else. Then he would have leveraged Chesney for a big pay raise. Per McShay, Sexton didn’t like how Franklin was treated (even if warranted). That’s about more than $$.
Agree, he should have grabbed Chesney. Wait and see who he gets. Then that’s on Kraft, nobody else. And he should have abandoned that strategy a week or two ago and grabbed a guy like Chesney or Stein.
Duh.I don’t quite get the interference from Sexton claims. Several coaches were fired but only Penn State gets Sexton’s wrath, all over Franklin? How does this make any sense?
Yeah like Barkley, Warren, Carter, etc. They're just recruits soon to be undercoached by Franklin. They'll figure it out after it's too late.
If PSU wanted Chesney and outbid UCLA, and Chesney wanted to be at PSU, Sexton can’t stop it. I think much of this talk of Sexton’s grudge and power to screw PSU is mostly talk. What we saw is exactly what Franklin did…use a job offer to get a raise from the school you want to stay at. It’s not the curse of Sexton.Isn’t Chesney getting a big raise with the new job? It doesn’t. Just more excuses from the Kraft apologists.I don’t quite get the interference from Sexton claims. Several coaches were fired but only Penn State gets Sexton’s wrath, all over Franklin? How does this make any sense?
I think it was time to cut bait with Franklin. But am I wrong? Some of us were reluctant for him to be fired for the very reasons we are seeing now. To be fair, I didn’t think Kraft was an incompetent idiot, so that made it far worse.
Fair enough, but that was 52 days ago now and Penn State is the only P4 school without a coach and recruiting class. That’s squarely on Kraft.I think it was time to cut bait with Franklin.
So, it’s just Kraft’s incompetence then?If PSU wanted Chesney and outbid UCLA, and Chesney wanted to be at PSU, Sexton can’t stop it. All these coaches are smart, savvy guys that can make big boy decisions on their own. There’s zero chance that Sexton would risk his career over some spat with one AD. Especially since there are a ton of other POS ADs and agents he has to deal with on a daily basis. If PSU wanted Chesney and outbid UCLA, and Chesney wanted to be at PSU, Sexton can’t stop it. This sums it up perfectly.Fair enough, but that was 52 days ago now and Penn State is the only P4 school without a coach and recruiting class. That’s squarely on Kraft.

Incompetence? Can’t say at this time. Bad decisions in hindsight? Very well could be, depending on who he hires. So, it’s just Kraft’s incompetence then?
Then they really didn’t want to leave their schools. Somebody posted that Kraft chose the toughest list of candidates to go after: coaches at good schools already paid well and comfortable there. Oregon took a coordinator for its head coach. So did Georgia. So did OSU. Kraft went after the toughest possible candidates, and there’s no indication any of them really wanted to leave.
1) The BYU guy was not a Sexton client (nor are several ofr the others "on the lists")Anybody who is a Richie Sexton client is not coming to PSU. Chesney was a client; all the recent SEC coach hires are clients. PSU has to find someone outside college football or a current coach who is not a client of Richie Sexton.
Not having a head coach on signing day over 50 days after he fired the last head coach is incompetence.Incompetence? Can’t say at this time. Bad decisions in hindsight? Very well could be, depending on who he hires.
That would be a cool "Fun Fact".... if it were anything close to being a fact - instead on abject nonsense.Fun Fact: No school that fired a coach with agent A, ever hired another agent A coach immediately after. Basically, no Sexton Client will be the next coach.
1) The BYU guy was not a Sexton client (nor are several ofr the others "on the lists")
2) No way in the world a pro like Sexton would bar one of his clients from a huge payday/opportunity. He may squeeze PK's walnuts for an extra $10 Million or so as a price for (In Sexton's view) being juvenile - just to show he can - but that wouldn't be anything that would prevent PSU from completing the hire.
Nope. No boogeyman to point the fingers at. It is what it is.
Well, im not sure there has even been a search until we had a "handshake" with satakiI’m shocked there hasn’t been a leak with this search. Lots of speculation but no real leak on either the hire or the panic of no hire at this late stage.
Because according to Todd McShay agents and their clients have a relationship like the one portrayed in Jerry Maguire.I don’t quite get the interference from Sexton claims. Several coaches were fired but only Penn State gets Sexton’s wrath, all over Franklin? How does this make any sense?
Sexton doesn't work for PSU, Franklin did. No permission or authorization needed and if Sexton thinks otherwise, too bad.I thought I saw that Sexton is pissed because Kraft fired Franklin without going through Sexton first.
Really going out on a limb with that prediction considering we have senior heavy starting roster, no recruits and no coach for signing day. Why would anyone challenge this, it's obvious and has been for a while.New Coach = Transfer Portal Roster and a Full rebuild.
Anyone that thought other wise is just dreaming. Everyone can say I’m wrong. Go Ahead. Guess what…. I’m right, because that’s exactly what it’s going to be.
But... alignment? It’s feeling more like Kraft fired Franklin because of their inability to get along.
At this point the whole thing is irrelevant. Kraft killed the program. The only thing that matters now is firing Pat Kraft
I think he went to okstateHow about the North Texas coach. Just going down the top 25 list. He can bring his QB. Moving onto High School next.
Franklin definitely needed to move on. Krafty may be next.I’ve been saying this for days now. This is a big deal. We were led to believe that Kraft fired Franklin so that he could hire a coach that could get PSU over the hump and wing B1G titles and National Championships. Instead, PSU will be rebuilding from the ground up like 2012-2015. Maybe PSU fired the wrong guy? Maybe they should have fired Kraft?
And Penn State had zero interest in him so...it's mutualI've known Cignetti since we were teenagers. PSU would be a last resort for him.
Amen!Someone once said "You can't always get what you want...but if you try sometimes, well you just might find, you get what you need."
Have faith boys. We're going to have a coach soon and he's going to be a good coach.
$$,$$$,$$$. That’s whoLet's examine the short list of coaches who want to come in and take over a program with no recruits in the entire class, a ton of seniors leaving, and half of what's left portaling out in a few weeks...I got Terry Smith and nobody else, literally. Hire him today and then fire this clown Kraft
