There’s a bold predictionI'm thinking at this point it's going to be completely out of left field. It could be a good hire over time, but we are probably not going to to like it initially.

Someone on here is obsessed about that.Really? That’s why?
Well at least show you have a pulse and attempt to do some damage control right?Well, I'm not sure at this point it would do any good or be respected by anyone who counts. I just surfed all over the net something I never do for reactions to our situation, Bendapudi and Kraft are literally being trashed everywhere PS is mentioned. They have become the PS evil doers in cyberspace.
It’s unbelievable that nobody in PSU leadership even attempts to put out a statement to the fans, alumni etc about where things stand and when this will be resolved. Yet these same people want every penny from you to keep a competitive roster?
Perhaps in a similar fashion to how a winless UCLA with an interim staff beat what Franklin touted as one of his most experienced teams, one ranked #2 and in contention for a national championshipFrom your mouth to God's ear.
Insert eyeroll - this is beyond delusional. How precisely is PSU going to win a National Championship with walk-ons?
Not much gets by you huh? That horse has been dead for more than 50 days. Don’t blame Franklin for Kraft’s failure to hire his replacement. That 10 win coach ran himself out of town when he decided to sulk and bail on his team after a tough loss. Instead of being thankful to the school that made he and his family multimillionaires, James is continuing to demonstrate what a douche he is.
Please note: The resulting disaster of a coaching search is a separate and distinct issue. No doubt, it has been seriously botched, but that narcissistic, ungrateful, time-management challenged, game day disaster of a cookie-eating clown had to go.
Provided he wants the job (no one else does) I would take Mullen over Daboll in a hot minute.Brohm is out as well, so it may be Brian Daboll.![]()
What is holding up announcing Daboll then?Brohm is out as well, so it may be Brian Daboll.![]()
I think he was a potential candidate when they hired O’Brejn. Could be wrong on that.Forgot he is out at UNLV... He would likely jump to PSU if offered one would think.
Did terrible near the end at Stanford.David Shaw
Daboll was a disaster with the Giants. Please. Now that the college game is professional football it makes sense to hire a coach with professional experience who has experience juggling paid athletes and meeting their demands.
Daboll (sp?) did that in the NFL and at Bama. You could do a whole lot worse than hiring him.
If Kraft was solely responsible for identifying, interviewing and deciding on a candidate then there is more blame to go around for this sorry state of affairs.
Saban and Meyer were disasters in the Pros too.Daboll was a disaster with the Giants. Please.
Forget Lando. And while I think we should have beat IU, I’m OK with it.That’s what Lando keeps referencing. And because he didn’t beat Indiana.
Rather than disparaging me, perhaps you could benefit from a reading comprehension class. Not much gets by you huh? That horse has been dead for more than 50 days. Don’t blame Franklin for Kraft’s failure to hire his replacement.
What’s wrong with Smith? I’ve read so many posts saying "not him," but I still don’t fully understand why.Is it going to be Dabol or Brohm??? Krafty has to get this done ASAP.
Either one is better than BGJ or Terry Smith.
Just end this circus and get one of these guys.
Reading comprehension is not your forte. He did not blame him for anything involving the hiring of a replacement. Your obsession continues. Not much gets by you huh? That horse has been dead for more than 50 days. Don’t blame Franklin for Kraft’s failure to hire his replacement.
Really? Franklin was a few plays away from playing for the Natty last year. He is also now coaching in the ACC and will have a much easier path to make the playoffs than whoever the new coach at PSU will be in the Big Ten. Once you make the playoffs anything can happen.Well…let me put it this way. Even in our current situation, PSU has a better chance of winning a NC in the next 8 years than VT will with BGJ at the helm.
so…yes
He was an utter disaster. Terrible decisions, terrible development of players, I’m not sure what in the world Kraft could be looking at here, other than desperation.Daboll was a disaster with the Giants. Please.
Probably working on a contract extension with his couch. What is holding up announcing Daboll then?
Not true here. I still want to see who is hired and will support him because I am a lifelong fan. That’s doesn’t excuse Kraft’s abject incompetence. I also am beginning to wonder if part of the problem in hiring a nMost on this site have already decided they don't like it, regardless of the selection.
uh Sitake was a “smokescreen” from the national media. Who are those better candidates?OBVIOUSLY…..there are plenty of possible coaches out there. Was Sitaki an official release from Kraft or just a smoke bomb from the PSU beat guys? Lots of coaches still coaching… both NFL or college.
look, I’m sick about this. But there has to be a silver lining?? IMHO, Terry Smith = < Mike Locksley! There’s better guys (maybe gals) out there. However, this time-line is killing us.
He wasn't interested. His dad went to psu and wanted him to get the job.I think he was a potential candidate when they hired O’Brejn. Could be wrong on that.
Yeah but they were successful college head coaches before they tried the pros.Saban and Meyer were disasters in the Pros too.
Coaches in the Championship games .Not true here. I still want to see who is hired and will support him because I am a lifelong fan. That’s doesn’t excuse Kraft’s abject incompetence. I also am beginning to wonder if part of the problem in hiring a n

The Franklin sucks horse is long dead but feel free to keep beating it if you must.Rather than disparaging me, perhaps you could benefit from a reading comprehension class.
As I originally said...Kraft's failure is separate and his own to deal with.
I'm not blaming Franklin for Kraft's failure. I'm blaming Franklin for his narcissism, game mismanagement, sulking attitude after another big loss (resulting in 2 additional disastrous losses), pettiness, and general ungrateful douchery directed at a university that made him wealthy.
Reading the tea leaves and leaks I think Kraft made offers and got close to deals with Elko, Sitake, and Chesney at a minimum. Where he royally screwed up was by apparently refusing to seriously consider anyone without P4 head coaching experience aside from Chesney, who he kept on the back burner and lost by doing so. Stein or Hartline would have been perfectly acceptable hires. Conversations with others seemingly didn't pan out, or fell apart when those teams found success and no longer wanted to change jobs (Deboer). Why you'd put your fate in the hands of Auburn in the Iron Bowl I do not know, maybe because he felt he had Sitake in place by then.Who, exactly, has Kraft attempted to hire?
Until he bails and then we go through this again.Yes, everyday and twice on Sunday.
Talk about obsession, how about if some fans get over their Franklin Derangement Syndrome and stop trashing him at every turn more than 50 days after he was fired? As I have said repeatedly I have no problem with his firing, the problem is Kraft’s abject failure in hiring a replacement.Reading comprehension is not your forte. He did not blame him for anything involving the hiring of a replacement. Your obsession continues. the let’s trash Franklin more than 50 days after
I watched a fair number of Giants’ games and Daboll came across as a good guy but his game management decisions made Franklin look like a strategic genius. He was an utter disaster. Terrible decisions, terrible development of players, I’m not sure what in the world Kraft could be looking at here, other than desperation.
At least he's out of the Big 10 now, silver liningsHartline heading to USF.
