So a statement to say that they have nothing they can say right now, and to sit tight and keep waiting like you have been for 2 months. That's going to placate alumni and fans?
Many of you complain about Franklin's word salad and now you are asking for some of that from the administration. The narrative is set because Kraft botched it, no statement is going to change anything or provide any sort of meaningful, factual information.
You (we) have no idea if anything has been botched, although it sure appears that way. I’m not saying it’ll solve anything, but it might help to shed some light on what’s happening.
I don’t see a way that Smith is made the permanent head coach and Kraft remains the PSU AD.
It is very clear that Kraft wanted Sitake, every big national reporter has the story. Any discussion that Sitake was a smokescreen and Kraft has someone else ready and waiting is pure copium.
Again, nobody knows that, including every big national reporter. Do you honestly think Sitake was viewed internally as our savior? I don’t.
At this point, if I'm Terry and approached, I'm adding $3M to my salary demand. Kraft is stuck over a barrel.
It was actually probably one of his ***** *** support people he took with him, you know, the ones that were doing some sabotage their last few days as PSU staff.
Our savior? He's a football coach, a good one, would have been a solid hire. And yes, it's well known he was the guy... until he wasn't. But keep holding out hope for some better story I guess. The reality is Kraft's inability to close with Sitake while everyone else he liked locked down other jobs or extensions has now cost PSU dearly.

Just to be clear, I’m in no way defending Kraft here. And, yeah, savior is probably not the best choice of words. Even so, we have zero idea who has been interviewed, who has been offered the position, and who has turned us down. It is all speculation by members of the media (I use that term lightly) designed to keep us interested so we keep clicking away and they keep making $.
I just listened to Brent Key on XM as they were interviewing him. Man, l wish PSU could have gotten him. Really good interview and a coach with a clear plan.

I posted at the time that I feared we had lost ourselves after witnessing a LOT of absolutely disgusting 'fan' behavior that day. What's more, there were 'fans' who threatened his family. You just do NOT mess with a man's family and expect no retribution.

Nobody "came after his family" then. Nobody "threatened his family." People were calling him a quitter --- which, well, he looked like one that afternoon.

I don’t see any way Kraft survives this, and really needs to be fired now before he does any further damage. It’s obvious that nobody wants to step into this debacle with the AD on thin ice. A new AD may force them out for their own guy.

Franklin is as thin-skinned and spiteful as they come. He still has hurt feelings towards Maryland and he tried his best to ruin Vanderbilt when he left there. I expect many years of him trying to jab at Penn State and I don’t know why anyone would even care. It’s a sad and pathetic look for a grown man.
