Reading between the lines I think Sitake wants to get a raise for his entire staff and that will necessitate a raise for himself. BYU got him on the cheap and I would bet the ranch they will make it right. Maybe not to $11m/year but probably in that $8m range which is more than double what he is getting

That school has more cash than most states

Have you been to UU? There's tons of drinking and parties just like every other major state university. At least you didn't try to argue Oregon State

Multiple times. Used to go to SLC a couple times a year for work. Utah isn't a big tenesque party school. Not even close.

It will end up Diaz, Daboll, Al Golden or someone who at least had something to do with PSU or the Northeast. All these southerners, westerners, whether it's right or wrong, won't happen.

The big problem with that is that most of the players who planned to enter the portal (at least the good ones) had their people contacting other teams as soon as the games were over last Saturday, and likely will have their deals already worked out long before the portal opens.
Precisely. That’s my point.

Kind of annoying to listen to unless you want to hear 15 minutes on Dom DiSandro. The only new coach takeaway is “Penn State has a plan”. So unless things fall apart at the last second then it sounds like Kraft has his guy and probably at least one backup.
I only posted it because someone asked for context and I did not want to misspeak, but I hear you. My take away, in addition to what you mentioned, was how adamant they were that a coordinator was not in the mix. Their reference to Hartline as almost derisive, but maybe it was just Sauber tone. He can be a bit haughty.

I think you're blinded by its in Utah but whatever you want to believe. Oregon State alone defeats your argument. If it's him he knows exactly what he's getting into and probably loves it because it makes his job much easier.

Oh come on well over 90% sign early. If Kraft names a coach by the 9th, the portal may still be viable.
90% of the kids dont sign early. Many do
The portal is very viable and kids get out of LOI deals all the time even if they do sign.

I wasn’t ridiculing your post, I’d actually much rather listen to their take before the Josh Pate’s of the world. It just gets old to listen to all the non sequiturs and then not get the payoff in the end.

I don't think any practicing mormons are particularly enamored with giant party schools full of underage drinking.

So the upside is the proverbial "imagine so and so at our school with all our resources instead of their current school with all its limitations". Could literally say that about 90% of current college coaches.

Those are not the main reasons he was fired that's what you say when you don't intend to publicly out a traitor and risk a lawsuit. It has been well documented on this board the reason's he was fired something some people ignore because it doesn't fit their narrative.
You really are a special kind of stupid. I was talking about the manner that Kraft fired Franklin. A professional would simply say it was time to move on rather than put yourself on the spot in the manner that he handled the firing. How exactly was Franklin a traitor?

Hire Brohm and get it over with. He has Big Ten experience, can recruit the area and the south. He can coach QB’s and upset top 5 teams. Did they struggle some the second half of the year. Sure but Moss was hurt also. I don’t know if he will be better than Franklin bet he sure is a better x and O’s coach. The one thing I have learned in this crazy era of football is that other schools are more willing to pony up craz $to keep their coaches than in the past.

Kraft set to introduce Al Golden as a rebranded A.I. Golden as our next coach if Sitake falls through .

He better hurry up before Kentucky or some Directional Michigan team gets him. After that, Terry Smith will say he already made up his mind to go to Virginia Tech with Franklin. So Penn State will then just go on with no coach and a posting on their job website that says open continuously or until the right relative of someone comes along to take it.

Maybe PSU gets the first AI Coach.

Kraft totally f’ed this up. He needs to be fired.
You have no basis for posting this. Be patient grasshopper.

I think PSU (and thus Kraft) have a choice between Lincoln Riley or Kalen DeBoer, but for different reasons.

Lincoln hates the bi-weekly lengthy travel to the midwest and his wife isn't pleased with living in LA. She really liked Norman, Ok and wants some other place less congested.

Kalen originates from South Dakota and his wife from Illinois. Neither are thrilled with living in the sultry South. They adopted a child and want her to experience a more normal upbringing than what Tuscaloosa can offer.

If it is not Sitake then who?? Down to Hartline or Diaz.? No way on Al Golden or Daboll as they would have been hired by now.

I really hope Kraft didn't punt on Chesney to get Sitake not planning on losing Sitake.

Pretty soon I will tell Krafty that I will take the job for only a $1 million a year. What a deal! Do I have this board's support?!

Brohm is a good hire, but it sure has taken a long time to get to him. Louisville was eliminated from the playoff two weeks ago. If it’s Brohm then he was Plan H.

I'd take Manny today, but still hold out hope for Deboer, Dabo even if we had to wait.

Penn State has done pretty well in another sport with another Mormon as the head coach.

Just got caught up on all of this on an insider board and what a cluster F. BYU is doing everything they can, from big donors to the church itself, to keep Sitake. I still think we’ll get them, but regardless, if we get him or not, Pat kraft needs to be fired. I can’t see how the university keeps him. He’s been played like a fiddle by just about every candidate and agent. It’s truly embarrassing. Now it may be different with this candidate as they appear to have had a handshake agreement at this point, and he is a man of his word, but who the hell knows, he’s also a man of faith. If we lose this candidate, and he truly is an excellent candidate for our job, it’ll be a disaster of epic proportions. Will end up with somebody like Brohm. 🤮 in fact, if this falls through somebody needs to convince university leadership to give this to a search firm. I listened to Pate and when you look at it through his lens, it’s completely embarrassing. We unnecessarily lost this recruiting class because of incompetent Pat. We were the first blue blood program to fire their coach this year and the last a hire one.

No, he's a scumbag for the **** he and his lacky's who are leaving with him pulled weeks before he was even fired. You know full well about those things as they have been very well discussed on this board. Things that people like to ignore.
Rumors that people choose to ignore you mean.
