At this point it better be a homerun hire as long as he has waited and the amount of coaches that have either signed extensions or moved to other programs.
Brohm Daboll and especially Smith would have been announced by now...same with Campbell
On X, so take it as such, Chesney didn't impress at this interview. I think one of our "insiders" said the same thing.

What's your over under on the number of players Sitake brings with him from his current? 55 of the 85 scholarship players have been on their mormon mission.

His prized QB commit, Lyons is going on his mission in 2026 and won't be on campus until the 2027 season. Ditto for 4 star Brock Harris. 4 star Bott Mulitalo is also expected to take his mission before enrolling.
It probably falls to Daboll at his point. Has a relationship with Pegula and apparently his kid(s) attend PSU. Has almost zero skills as a high end recruiter
I just have to say that I wouldn't want to share this crisis with any other group of fans/alumni than you all! There is gonna be an amazing story to tell after this is all over....

Daboll seems like a disaster nonsensical hire. Sign Brohm or Diaz or Heartline. Or ideally pivot back to Chesney and nab him before it is official with UCLA
At the this point if you are the coach who is offered the job you have to worry about who your AD is going to be because it sure as hell can’t be Kraft for more than a couple of days. What a disaster.

I was extremely worried that we would actually be doing back and forth with Sitake for the next week which is pretty much the worse scenario possible.

Fair points, but whomever is taking the job understands what he’s walking into at this point, especially if part of the reason for the tumult is on them for asking PK to wait.
Hire Coach Smith this evening. Get it done and try to salvage what you can. Kraft should then be fired immediately thereafter.
Hire Knowles over Smith if they're desperate. Smith isn't capable of doing the job.

Chesney seems to be closer to Nick Saban, than the remaining candidates who I can't tell from Nicki Minaj.
That why this idea of Urban Meyer somehow blowing his interview is ridiculous. Give him the job and figure everything out around him.
