It appears we are "back" and may eclipse anything we have done in the past over

the next several years. I think we also got a committment from a California kid
yesterday who had some very nice offers as well.

Guess so. I wonder if there was some pressure for Auburn, that's why he wanted to lay low.

We're getting close to that top level.

Recruiting wise, still haven't hit all the milestones. Need a first round pick to come here from high school or stay for senior year here.

As I have repeatedly said, this is the program in which we can compete every year at the highest levels. We have all the tools in place and a base of support that rivals any program. I hope our athletic administration is doing everything it can to pour whatever resources are available into keeping this thing on max forward speed. 6-6 football **** be damned. I want some f'n legitimate hardware in that barren trophy case. [/no offense to you disk golf ****].

You also repeatedly said that you weren't 100 percent in belief tht Cohen was the guy. My how things have changed.

Agreed. And I am certainly not alone in that opinion. I was not willing to accept that the program had to be administered a polk abortifacient in order to be put on a sustainable path to success. I was unwilling to accept that the program was in that bad of shape. With the benefit of hindsight I see it now. I was wrong about John and gladly so.

I was sitting at an airport in New York in my MSU field cap and a guy came up and talked to me. He was on his way to an Adidas showcase for track and field or something and his daughter was being recruited by Arkansas blah blah blah... said the catcher for her high school (sophomore) had committed to Cohen already. I think it was another Hoover product. I think we can all agree we're in the best place we've ever been in recruiting.

i was in the wait and see mode with cohen and it was starting to look sour during that uca, lsu, ect stretch, but cohen got over that hump and willed the team to the finals. now that we have established that, cohen is exactly the type of guy so many guys want to play for. he is young-er and cool enough to relate to by these high school kids, and the beard power-point thing gives him a playful side where these recruits can see them having fun and at the same time, knowing cohen wont rule with an iron fist. we have the facilities, fan support, tradi-shun', and now the coach that works his *** off AND recruits can relate to him. we have great future ahead. we just need to continue to push the boundaries and stay elite on all fronts. really excited about where we can go.

I was at a craps table in Washington, PA Monday night with an MSU shirt on and a pit boss came up and struck a conversation about our baseball team run this year. Was pretty surreal to be approached with complimentary comments on our program.

He also complained about losing a big parlay last year when he bet on our football team though.

We've started off slow in conference play each of the last three years (although 2012 wasn't really Cohen's fault), but we always play our best at the end of the year when we really need to. I think that's just Cohen's MO: He tinkers with the lineups early to make sure we've got the best possible batting order/combination of players on the field and on the mound, so then by the end of the year, we can go balls to the wall in the postseason. Fans just need to keep a level head early in the SEC season because at the end, you know Cohen's probably going to have everything clicking.
