Seriously, Scout rates Devonte Scott the #46 RB in the country, and that's probably not even the position where we'll play him. How is he a reach?<div>
</div><div>If you're someone who sees 2 stars next to someone's name and automatically assumes they're worthless as a prospect, quit following recruiting until Mullen leaves. It is clear that he doesn't really care a whole lot how many offers someone has. This staff does their homework, and they don't mind finding someone with skills and coaching them up. Preston Smith may be 215 now, but he won't be after a couple years under Balis, and he's got plenty of speed. This is the kind of thing Boise State does...find guys that other people overlook, and coach them up in the position you think they best fit for your system. If we can hit on several of these types along with bringing in a good share of 3- and 4-star talent, I really like that approach.</div><div>
</div><div>I take back what I said about 'quit following recruiting until Mullen leaves,' though. Did you follow recruiting under Croom? Our 2004 class AVERAGED 2 stars. We are clearly making progress in that regard.</div><div>
</div><div>Again, though, this staff is willing to go the extra mile and find people others don't know about. We were on Dak Prescott before anyone else, we were on Rajion Neal before anyone else (unfortunately, still couldn't sign him) and these guys aren't even in our state. Basically no one else offered Johnthan Banks out of high school; that seems like a pretty good idea. Nickoe Whitley was kind of the same way. This staff knows what they're doing.</div><div>

I will go with Mullen's analysis of recruits rather than someone who just looks at stars, goes to a message board, and describes how many stars he sees next to a name.</span></div>
