We will see how it goes functionality-wise. But if you only watch TV for live sports, specificity MSU or SEC sports, this is a heck of a cost saver.

We have the Disney legacy bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ that has been about $25 per month. They’re currently offering the addition of this ESPN unlimited DTC service to the bundle for either $30 or $40 total (depending on if you want ads or no ads) for all 3 services after tax. Pretty much can get all the ESPN channels for just $10-20 bucks extra rather than having a separate full live TV package.

Old Disney bundle + YouTubeTV was costing right at $100 a month. Pair this ESPN unlimited bundle with a decent antenna for local channels and I can more than cut my TV subscriptions in half.

The big caveat is hopefully it doesn’t suck….

I’ve had the Disney+ Legacy Bundle since it was launched (Hulu with Ads, ESPN+ with Ads, Disney+ No Ads) and it’s been $22/mo.

The two packages being offered at launch are:
$30 for all of ESPN (including ESPN+) with Ads, Hulu with Ads, Disney+ with Ads

$39 for all of ESPN (including ESPN+) with Ads, Hulu No Ads, Disney+ No Ads

The prices will go up $6/Mo in August 2026.

I made the switch to the No Ads package last night.

For me the ESPN app has always been the king of suckage. Hopefully they get that part fixed.
Completely agree. It’s always way too difficult to find a game that you want to watch, there are way too many technical issues, and rather than making ongoing improvements to what they have, it always seems like they like to entirely replace one crappy app with a different version of a crappy app.

They really need someone focused on user interface and experience because they are the literal worst in that department.

Never had technical issues and games are easy to find and I'm almost 60 and not tech proficient at all. I'm on wired fiber, so that may be why no technical issues.

Will the app be available on Samsung or Fire TVs?

I cut the cord in 2001...mainly because I was a poor. I used to have to go to bars or a friends house to watch college football games not on broadcast TV. Then I saw an ad for something called a device called Roku on the back of a Netflix DVD in 2008. It's been fun to watch the cable/sat companies slowly dying since then.

Sounds great in theory but id have to change the channel for my wife every time she wanted to watch something else. Trying to explain inputs and HDMI’s , I might as well try to explain quantum physics to her. I put Firesticks on every tv so that each one would have the exact same remote because switching from a LG to a Samsung, to a Vizio was more than she could understand.

Also, I got this from WWE in my email last night. They’re moving to ESPN 3 months early:

Assumedly, the main event will be John Cena vs Brock Lesnar.

On my phone or iPad, it’s a piece of cake, but some of the built in tv apps are terrible.

First, it irritates me that the app on my Samsung tv doesn’t have any sort of memory no matter how I set up my profile and favorite teams, so I’m constantly having to go through 3-4 menus to find an MSU baseball game for example. Then, once I finally get to the college baseball section, I have to scroll through 50+ games at times before I finally get to the one I want.

As far as tech issues, I nearly know the error code by heart, but for whatever reason… live games just won’t play every now and then. You have to completely sign out of all accounts and sometimes even restart the entire TV and sign back in to get it to work.

These things probably vary from app to app though

At most, it’s just an update to the existing ESPN apps on those platforms. Your app may not even need one.

ETA: I became a cord cutter in the early 2000’s too. My first device was a Western Digital box. We called it “the little box” and it would stream Netflix, Crackle, Vudu, Youtube, and a handle of other services. I also had a dedicated PC connected to our TV and Hulu was free back then and ESPN360 was included in our internet service. I also used a site called TV Torrents to pirate TV shows like The Shield.

Slight thread hijack. For those of you taking advantage of free OTA channels, do you have a DVR solution for them? If so, what do you recommend?

I have 2 antennas on my roof but have never seen the need to record, if I miss something over the air its usually easy enough to find it playing again in a day or two on one of the free apps, YouTube, etc. My neighbor though has a Tablo (not sure which model) and has had it for a couple years that he says does a really good job.

I get the ESPN App via Apple TV and/or a Firestick, that's probably why I don't encounter the same problems.

Question. I pay about $100 a month for Hulu plus Disney plus espn with unlimited screens. How are you guys paying such a small amount for Hulu.
Also, how is the new ESPN app working. I could turn off everything else if not for the wife and kids

Are you paying for Hulu or Hulu TV? Hulu TV is a cable/satellite replacement like YouTube TV, which is way more expensive than just Hulu.

There is HULU , and then there is HULU Live.
One is not like the other. You have HULU LIVE.
