Used the term Old Miss twice early in the press conference.

I'm gonna take this job serious. (Twice)

Athletes, don't be stupid. (I swear he said this)

I was at first hesitant to take the job when contacted back inJanuary.

"Thank you Thank you Thank you, Hotty Toddy."

I'm telling you the whole thing was very unimpressive to say the least.

Almost forgot; hemade reference to"this is our state" as well so we are already in his head.

every time I read it, I interpret it differently.

Mods, is it possible to get a peak at each edit?

he seems to be a decent hire for them. As usual, they're about 4 years behind us in breaking out of the GOB way of doing things.

His press conference was impressive. He sounded intelligent, prepared, confident, excited and experienced. He hit all the high points that are at the fore front of OM fans minds (NFL players welcomed back to our facilities, fund raising for expansions, discipline with athletes, new culture and attitude throughout the Ath Dept) and yes, he took a shot at MSU for the mouth breathing segment of our fan base to masturbate over later.

What did you expect? "All the fine guls go to OLE MISS" blasting at full volume while he Douggies into the room? You want him to slap a check for a million on the podium from a donor he spoke to that morning? You want him to fire AK right there? You want him to call Pete Boone on speaker phone and punk him out? Actually, that might have been awesome.

Your maroon colored computer monitor is making you look like an idiot. Just admit that any reasonable person would be impressed with this hire right now. Whether he can actually deliver a better product to the fields and courts is yet to be determined, but the guy is prepared, smart, ambitious and excited. Nothing more needs to be address in an introductory presser.

about the PC sounded like Boone pouted standing against the wall, and Bjork took a shot at him over the Powe weightroom incident. I still can't believe how ridiculous Boone and his douchebag sonsare with that whole deal.My question, do you thinkBoone will continue to live in Oxford?

he would have been at least acknowledged by Jones/Archie/Glenn during the beginning. Some of that dog and pony show, political ******** about what a steward of the University he has been, the facilities he's built, fund he's raised, etc. Stuff that everyone in the room knew was crap, but was necessary to keep the peace. If he WAS there, the shot Bjork took about NFL players is even more impressive. Talk about some swag.

Not sure if he'll stay in Oxford now. Whether he literally kick Powe out of the IPF or if it was a misunderstanding (the lack of a public explanation lends credence to the 'kicked hi out' story), he basically sealed his fate as a hated man in Oxford. Not nearly as bad as Nutt, but I doubt anyone has much to say to the man who kicked a beloved Rebel and NFL player out of the IPF.

I don't have a clue if he'll be a good hire or a bad one, but he's definitely the type of hire you guys needed to make.

It was from the OM247 site article some guy named David Johnson wrote:

Also in attendance was much-maligned and outgoing athletic director Pete Boone. Boone did not go near the stage, nor did he take part in the program. He stood against a wall about 50 feet away from where his successor took the podium and simply watched and listened. At the conclusion of the press conference, Boone left the building immediately with two other men. </p>

During his remarks, Bjork said, “Former student-athletes who wore the Red and Blue are always welcome back here.” Only days ago a rift had developed between Boone and former football player Jerrell Powe over Powe’s usage of workout facilities at the Indoor Practice Facility

Pouting like a *****. Completely ignored by anyone of authority in the entire room. Taunted about his recent dumbass move by the new blood in front of thousands. Excellent.
