Saw a writeup this morning in the Columbus paper about the new restaurant going into the old state theatre building, Dawg House Grill II. The original DHG is in Ruston, LA. Looks good and all and happy to see something new and definitely will try it out, but was a little surprised at the "Southern charm" decor (their words). Found this pic on their Facebook page. Now if it was a stuffed bear, that's a different story, but are deer heads on Main Street "Southern charm"?

Correction--- southern STYLE is what it is called, not southern charm.

They have a chance if they negotiated the rent down. Also, this not being their first go at it helps.

I am fearful for the town of Starkville though. Hopefully they won't drag up any of those half human, non English speaking coonasses to ruin our town.***

Seems like another deli is about the last thing that Starkville needs as far as restaurants go but that said, best of luck to them.

If you are opening up a MSU sports themed bar and can't put the correct logo up there, then what are you doing here?

My thoughts as well.

I've been to the Dawghouse in Ruston. Pretty good bar food, but none of the dozens of large TVs were in HD. Pretty big no-no for a sports bar/grill.

That space is tough to manage, so I'm interested to see what they do with the place. It would be great if someone could buy the place and cut it up into three independent retail spaces.
