This works out well from a contract and scheduling standpoint as the school will open at the beginning of the next four year VHSL cycle.

What will be interesting to see is how the new (and sixth) Stafford County High School will piece together their initial schedule beginning when they open in 2026 as that will be the final year of the current four year cycle and the second year of what is normally the back end of home and home agreements.

More than likely the school will open grades 9-11 and the team will play a JV schedule but who knows.

That is how it has worked in PWC for decades. Hylton did a JV schedule in 1991, varsity in 1992. The pattern hasn't changed with every new HS since.
