I'm not trying to be negative, he looks great, I don't see how he ran a 4.9? Today that's your average OT. He seems much faster than that.kid played in a damn good football league in HS

This article says he runs a 4.7 40.
Anyway, article says "Williams attracted official offers from Nebraska, Kansas State and TCU last summer, but those invitations were withdrawn to the regular season as the schools received commitments from other quarterbacks."
Plus he's full academic qualifier.
Given this late hour, I will have to say Mullen has hit at least a stand-up triple, if not an inside the park HR.
Good call, Relf ran a 4.85 in the combine. It just seems all the DT's out there are listed at 5's and 4.9's, I guess they both have good acceleration....Relf was never going to win any 40 yard dashes, unless he was racing Deon Mix. Yet Relf went on to become an Egg Bowl & Gator Bowl legend. When it comes to option QB's, 40 times are about as meaningful as a tit on a boar.
agreed. I like him on his film. He has a lot of arm strength. he flicks it, and it goes 40 yards. I also like how he puts the smack down on db's once he breaks the los.
the question is can he throw it into some tight windows when he needs to? He can sure run it at this level. he has lots of time to develop.
He shouldn't have many tight windows to throw it in if we will get back to running our ground game. This crop of WR's will be in one on one coverage with a huge height advantage, and we will be able to throw it deep when they crowd the LOS. I don't agree with a lot of the Mullen moves, but I like the way this WR crop lines up with Dak, Cord, and Williams. Throw Shumpert in the backfield, and a 4th year group of O-Linemen...we could be dynamite on offense in a few years.
So he's not a RGIII, he's a Tebow... I'll take him. He'll pick up 5 yards instead of 10. That works.
