Just wondering since most former OM players choose to give their high school name instead of their college during intros on TV games.

Its just silly. Desperate really. If you want to go so long and not jump in the bill board smack, why start now?

there was post after post of how redneck and ridiculous it was to market on billboards last year with the "This Is Our State" campaign.

We didn't invent this marketing. We did invent rubbing your noses in it and watching your responses, and your ilk justifying things you swore Ole Miss would never do.

that they are a waste of time and money and are evidence that a school has "little brother syndrome." Once again the cycle repeats itself, MSU does something, UM fans talk about how stupid and tacky it is, then about a year later UM does the exact same thing.

Please find one post here where I said your billboards are ridiculous or redneck. Why is it that when discussing anything OM, you and your posters ask certain posters to speak for what other ignorant OM posters have said at some point?

I've always thought your billboards were pretty good marketing. I've been bashed on the spirit for suggesting this. Yet you bring up what other OM people said in response to my post. I can't speak for our idiots any more than you can speak for yours.

The only billboard I find slightly questionable is the one in Oxford that is targeted at Liggins. If he signs with you, its brilliant. If he doesn't sign with you, its money wasted, other than the ribbing factor.

But I'll make my point again...Are you suggesting that OM hasn't utilized billboards for sports marketing before you did recently?

Do you really think that every billboard we use to market sports from here forward is a response to your billboards?

The Road to the "Super Bowl goes through OM" billboard looks like a response. The one above looks like good marketing. I guess it could be said that since it is a spin off of the "Road to the Super Bowl" billboard then it is a response, but why wouldn't we market the fact that we have an impact player on each remaining playoff team.

it was a good portion. But I will concede you did not say it personally.

I'm saying Ole Miss didn't use billboards to take thinly veiled shots at State until State started doing the same thing to Ole Miss. I think that billboard that y'all did is great.

Does USM's billboard not scream of "look at me, pay attention to me" and little brother syndrome or do y'all think that is perfectly normal and good marketing?

You're not. We are. And I am loving it. Your camp's reaction is just that - reactionary. You have some pretty major players in the NFC and AFC championship games. Good for you. But to conveniently decide to start a billboard campaign about it now?? Hmmmm......seems suspicious in the timing. And it goes against things many of your kind said UMMMM would never do.

So now we've been "told" to take down the one in Oxford. But the billboards don't bother anyone.

Most people don't realize what a crock the BCS rankings are, or that Southern Miss doesn't even have a chance to ever be relevant thanks to the AQ/non-AQ divide, so it's a good way to market the program. Why wouldn't it be?

Suspicious in the timing? You do realize that billboard only makes sense this week. Last week it didn't and next week there will be only two teams left. The timing is the conference championship games. You're an idiot.
