6’4” Anaya Hardy from Detroit. Well, she is 6,4” and that will make some people happy. Unfortunately, she is not listed in the ESPN top 100. List of other schools recruiting her isn’t all that impressive. But hey, if she can come here and rebound, play solid interior defense - she doesn’t have to be a star to be successful.

She did and chose us. That isn’t Baylor, Tennessee and UofL though. I’m not saying she is unworthy of a UofL scholarship. CJW is usually pulling in higher rated players though. Again, rebound and play good interior defense and do the grunt work in the paint…that can go a long way. I don’t know what Cortnee was ranked out of HS but she did what was asked of her and was vital to her teams.
The recent trend with Walz seems to be that the higher ranked players become discontent really quickly. Anaya and Eseosa are both 6'4"-6'5" bigs and unranked but have potential. If one of the two is productive combined with another stellar transfer class that would be a win. If both are rotational players that would be even better obviously. As is generally stated, you can't teach height.
I place more confidence in CJW assessment of a player, than those who rank the top 100 players. Each season there are plenty of players on Baylor, LSU, ND, IU, etc rosters that fail to make it on to the court and deliver up to the expectations that others had for them.
Hardy may never contribute at UL, but the mere fact that Jeff signed her to a coveted UL scholarship tells me that he has a plan for her and his team.
