What you can't see is Pike and Hobbs inside the RAC Offices up on ladders with ratchets tightening the bolts.
It looks like the bat signal. Like @MiloTalon13 said, maybe it’s for the planes…
Make the R in ARENA red and give the roof back drop a fresh coat of paint until the major exterior renovations take place.

I think it's hilarious that our arena is ugly as sin and yet we still have such an absurd home court advantage. It sort of adds to the charm. Like the uglier it gets the better we play there.
Our arena looks like a DIY project run amok by some architecture students in the 1970s.....and as others have said I wouldn't have it any other way. At this point let everybody sign or draw on it like some dive bar bathroom in the east village.
There was an article in the Ledger when MBB started to make their resurgence where they did interview the architect.
He said the continued budget cuts and the resulting change orders by Rutgers gave us what we ended up with. Ice was there at the beginning.
The place was clean and unique at the time. The 45 years (and counting) of outside neglect is the issue.

Is there a reason they can't at least paint the exterior? I can't imagine it would be that much to do and would look 100% better.

Apparently, the sides don't do well with the paint and the sun beating down on the metal roofing just turns it pink. See the roof in North endzone and the old scoreboard at Yurcak.
Many many times. Even a silver chrome reflective coating would look 1000 times better but small time uncreative excuse making minds there.
They could have done that and put Rutgers University up as they just did with JMA years ago.

You have a point. It’s almost so bad that it’s good…a little like fake wood paneling in a basement and shag carpeting. Maybe we should should accentuate it with random graffiti and just own the look.
Not to worry. The building will be renovated soon, says Pat Hobbs. Right now, Pat has the budget for another set of architect renderings. But soon the private donations will arrive to fund the construction.

Well to be honest, if it's not illuminated, I'll be a little disappointed.
Not at the end of the season with consecutive losses.Having shooters on the court is more important than exterior of the RAC.

The sign on the end is the worst in history, maybe ever.
You can see it clear as day on final into EWR, you can probably see it without squinting from the moon as well.

Some giant versions of laptop stickers almost randomly placed would be a wild look. They could include names of ex-players, ex-coaches including Dicky V.

Exactly right. Some people don't understand how Trademarks work. And the complainers are out with pitchforks too. Why we can't have nice things like major corporate sponsorships.
