Sonos is launching the Beam Ultra later this month, It will fit between the Beam Gen 2 and the Arc Ultra. I own the original Beam and may upgrade to this. Price $699.

I have a beam and arc. I would absolutely look at a refurbished arc before a 2nd Gen beam. No contest on sound quality, arc is amazing.

At that price point, why not spend a few hundred more and get an Arc Ultra?

We are DEEP in the Sonossphere. Have an Arc, 2 Arc Ultras, and then a Beam. The Arcs are paired with subs and surrounds. They are awesome, surround is awesome, music is awesome. Obviously I would buy them again, because I have. The Beam has a mini-sub, and we attempted to pair it with surrounds. That setup sucks and it does a horrible job doing surround sound, but does okay without the surrounds. Music sounds good enough on the Beam, but I would never buy the Beam again, or anything close to it in quality. I would go with the Arc.

Correction to the above, the crappy soundbar is a ray not a beam. No experience with the beam.

I am interested in the new beam because of the smaller footprint than the Arc Ultra, I have a smaller living room and just replaced an 8 year old 55” Samsung that did not have Atmos with a new 65” Mini LED. I get a 15% discount on my next Sonos purchase, I guess reward for buying the sub mini earlier this year. I am going to wait for some reviews on the beam ultra from folks that actually have them in hand before making final decision.
