Chris Jones was not very well known when his potential was realized very early in the recruiting process and we showed him the love. We are momz' favorite team. We have a program that is serious about getting players to the next level. One can only imagine that Jones would want to show the love back and play for the Bulldogs while trying to get to the next level (and get his degree).
He may also have realized that he wants to have his time in the spotlight to be the star, like his bro nKimdiche -- picking his college from of a few hats would give him a nice platform to do so.
But he couldn't very well do that if he was a solid MSU commit. That isn't possible without there being any suspicion of him wavering -- I would say visiting TSUN did a great job of doing that.
He wants to bask in the warm media glow while also getting to play for his momz' favorite team.

While on the trip, maybe, he also continued to strengthen the bond he developed with a certain fellow recruit during the recruiting process, a recruit named Tony Conner.
Maybe he's been chirping to Tony the benefits of joining a program that is serious about football, telling him how much he could help Jones on the defensive side of the ball
