Anybody else think this could cause some problems?

Forsyth Co.....at school A this year ....School B the next.....
Meck County rarely allows transfers at all so I do not think this makes a big difference there.
Smoking Gunz,I think this benefits the children. Now with sports being factored in, yes this will create some backlash but at the end of the day this allows families to have more control over the educational piece while not sacrificing the sports side.
I said this in the past when the Charter argument was discussed, It's about educational choice. It's too many possible law suits that could happen if the state did what most wanted.
Smoking Gunz,
During the discussion of charters I thought you wrote eloquently and intelligently in responses. Also thought you were willing to listen to others' opinions.
My opinion on this is that it is not for the benefit of the children that such rules are enacted. This is a sports rule in and of itself and should be examined as such. No educational benefits are addressed in its passing only eligibility.
While some parents do send their children to charters for personal reasons related to education (and that is a discussion for another day), many I know have sent them simply for sports, whether it was a difference of opinion on way their child was coached or for a few a chance to simply get on field. This rule will in my opinion lead to more active recruiting by both charters and traditional schools.
That ain't a good model in my opinion for any educational system to adopt.
I also think, again my opinion, that the prospect of future litigation may have led to the adoption of this rule. It is hard to blame the powers that be for protecting themselves but now they have shifted the responsibility to local LEAs.
I guess what I am saying is our children are often more adaptable than we are as parents. If left to their own they often surprise us by how well they do in any situation without interference from us.
But as I have said I am old. If it was good enough for me it is good enough for them.
Oh and get out of my yard!
I think we are basically on the same page on this. Only thing is NCHSAA is not a state organization. I do believe they are influenced by political views at times. The state will never make "sports" only decisions without considering what is going on around them. I put the ownership on parents. It's the parents decision to move a child for whatever reason. Unfortunately parents these days are quick to pull a kid because they're not "happy" with every little thing. Yes in our day you tough it out and deal with it. I would go on a tirade on how "soft" things are but I will keep it to myself..

I cannot speak for all people who have seen charters rise up suddenly in their areas. Do not want to tell others how to raise their children however have seen some move them to these schools for what my generation would consider trivial reasons on the education side. Not sure how this will help these students when they grow up and are faced with real problems that they must solve themselves.
This is not meant to be another "charter schools" bashing. Just think the new transfer rule will make it easier to build teams quickly, and destroy others, in both charters and traditional schools.Without the 365 rule many coaches, some who have never considered it before, may be tempted to put in for a recruiting stipend.
Thanks for discussion. Not always able to do so on this or any other board without having to resort to calling someone something ugly along the way.
Nothing now...I totally agree with you. This change will build up and destroy teams. I believe the strong programs will get stronger, but the on the rise programs will suffer. For example say on the rise team A is in the same area as strong program B, what's keeping the best players on team A from going to team B.
Yes sir I agree with you. Now however travel tournaments may begin to look like a HS gym when Duke,UNC, and Kentucky all want the same power forward. May have to have a section for ALL HS coaches to sit.when you have dads as coaches at some of these charters , you know exactly what's going on...not saying all are like that but come on...now it makes it easier when they show up at travel tourneys to say "hey would you be interested"....
