I just think we should pick something and stick with it, especially since our administration is always talking about "branding." And no, I don't like incorporating gold (or black) into our uniforms. We may change uniforms a lot, but our school colors have long been maron and whit.
on what players and recruits like.They may very well love them, butif we lose we will just look like clowns.
actually has used houndstooth on their uniforms for gloves and piping too. Whats wrong with adding new traditions? Also, have you guys seem A&M's uniforms lately? We will need to do something to set ourselves apart. ESPN will call us the Universtiy of Mississippi A&M Bulldogs.
..or are they going to drop the names on the jerseys & replace it with "Hail State?"

If this upcoming Egg Bowl actually meant something & was goingto be shown to anational TV audience, I would be highly pissed at such stupidity.

astonishing to me that people get this worked up over our uniforms. To tell you the truth, I couldn't care less what they wear as long as they win.
..when #74 & #63 with "Hail State" on their backs makes a great block for #43 with "Hail State" on his back who then fumbles the ball in the endzone only to be recovered by #5 with "Hail State" on his back...due to not knowing who the hell just did what, I'm probably going to boo that.
or Oregon pre pro combat. I honestly don't think they'reextravagantenough to garner extremely negative (or even positive) remarks from people outside of the state or recruits. I swear on everything that is holy though... If they do pull a Maryland and only showing this uniform as a teaser, and have another state pride jersey similar to how Maryland did theirs, I may have to everything I can from laughing hysterically.

Just to see what the lettering on the back will look like. The actual unis should have the names on the back.
My take on the uniforms is that they're supposed to represent the University's stance on being the place to go in the state and I'm kind of getting the, "this is bigger than individuals" vibe from them. Might just be me...
Have you been watching college football the last few years? I guess just about every other team in the country is going to be laughed at too (offhand I can think of LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia,and South Carolina just in the SEC). This isa weekly occurance.

Our "tradition" is sucking for a decade, then having 2 or 3 good seasons, then sucking for a decade. Nobody is going to make fun of these, and if they do, who gives a flying 17. If shaking up the uni's makes recruits happy, I'm all for it. I still think that there needs to be money tucked into those gold shoes as well, but at least we are trying something different.

But the checks can get smaller or disappear all together. I will have the volume turned up to suit others as well.
Seriously, if those of you who like these CUSA/SWAC uniforms really think that they entice recruits, you are sadly mistaken. I bet if you asked our class last year, not a single one of them would tell you that the black unis had anything to do with their decision. Heck, Im sure most of our class was just happy to get an SEC offer. Its about winning and other considerations, these horseshit unis have nothing to do with it.

It is obviously just something to catch their eye and make Mississippi State be something that they remember. It is the same thing companies use to advertise their products. Do you think Chase thinks that they will get more people to apply for their Chase Sapphire card because it is a pretty blue color? No, it is just something that stands out and makes people think of them anytime they see another card advertised.

Not to mention the fact that they are not spending your money on these uniforms, they were given to us by Adidas to promote their Techfit Rivalry gear.
