...and here's why: It's extremely visual. Even on the quickest of clips, you would definitely see that logo on the ball carrier and know that is MSU. On the aTm differences, I've said that all along. Thats why i did add Stripes to my ideal State uniform. its a noticable difference between aTm. Theyre as plain as maroon/white can get (like us in early 90's). I would assume that Jackie brought that in as well. I'm tired of copying them and we've done it twice (that i know of). However, letting the newbies control what color facemask we wear, seems ludacris. I appreciate the bold efforts of our athletic dept but i dont appreciate that.

The problem is that this ode to Lonnie Tinkle looks like dog ****. Some of us just hate it. Personal preference. Can't please everyone. Grateful we seem to be able to keep the interlocking for baseball at least. Hopefully that will continue, but expect we'll see the government-like slow progression to the banner **** eventually. The proverbial boiling of the f'n frog.

...of one of our players running down the sideline headed right towards the end zone where the camera is, and the cameraman zooms in just as he crosses the goal line and gets a damn good shot of our guys celebrating with big-*** Mississippi State "banners" across their chests. I seriously wouldn't mind a guy from Idaho seeing that; no matter what time of the day/night they're watching SportCenter. And i never thought we would confuse the 2 teams when we're playing each other.
It's ok, brah. I think I speak for nearly everyone when I say we appreciate your work and that of Adidas to float the trial balloons. Look, we know y'all are neck deep invested in the dog **** banner logo. Tinkle f'd up the interlocking so we had to brand in another direction. We get it. But, you can defend the banner til you're Crimsmaron in the face. Aint happnin. The banner sux. It's feminine. A few can live with it. Some don't give a ****. The rest of us hate it. I'm thinking the uni coordination came mutually from us and A&M and not from the SEC or Adidas. Probably more us than A&M thanks to Ole Miss.

Because of the University of Mississippi's refusal to use their real name, MSU is constantly tasked with clearly identifying itself. A&M's arrival opens a new front in identity confusion. In the midst of an ongoing war of identity, we were a little trigger happy in distinguishing ourselves from them.

Its the longest logo we have which goes better on the chest area. a smaller logo would resemble our russell jerseys. I WISH I had say in our new logos. I'd done it completely different. Anyway, see what i mean:

We overpaid for the branding; we're nostril deep invested in it across multiple platforms; now we're stuck with it. So, the push is on to make it work somehow. Sometimes you hit a home run (wymyn's softball coach) and sometimes you look like an inexperienced dolt (men's basketball coaching search). The banner unfortunately falls in the men's basketball coaching search category. fuh fuh fuh fuh fail.
We ARE stuck with it. And I'm in the "USS WeHaveToUseIt" boat. ..and the pic was really intended for the anti-Idaho guy.
it's less busy. I think the stripes with that logo is too busy. I like it better plain with the logo in this picture.

Hands down. But it's already taken. That's my point. If we do the plain look (which I like), we'll look exactly like the aggies. We are marked up identical. Hence, my various concepts. To show people different looks of a maroon/white scheme while using the logos I have to work with. I would actually prefer "Mississippi state" or "bulldogs" across the chest. But due to the mock-up that leaked out and our egg bowl tech-fit uni, I'm fairly sure that's the layout of this years uni. So taking all that info and the buzz of all the gray added, I came up with my best GUESS of what they're actually gonna look like. The bigger banner on the chest was not my idea of The best choice. I actually had it on my avatar pic when I was designing it, but I took it off, due to the business of it.
It looks sissy and too busy. DS was right I had rather have plain than a gaudy swac uni. This isn't aimed at you at all Chillbilly, you do some great work and I love to see all of the design options you come up with. I had rather have the old Jackie Miss. State across the chest than that banner logo. It doesn't need to be big and flashy at all. I think that's why the baseball and the MSU interlocking work so well is because of the simplicity. There are other ways to identify who the team playing is other than basically using the uniform as a billboard which imo is what that big logo does. If the girls teams want to use it fine but keep it the hell away from all things mens sports. All of this talk is moot now anyway because we are introducing the new unis in the coming weeks which I would bet has that logo on it.
it's not going to be on the actual jerseys..I have SEEN and HELD the actual jerseys they look damn good...Another note ChillBillyDog doesnt work in the Athletic Dept or with Adidas he's just doing this stuff for fun so dont expect the jerseys to look like his designs...because they dont

This entire time that I do not work for the university, although I'd like to. I just enjoy it. MSU and the country's perception of us means a lot to me. That's all.
I cant wait to see what they look like. I really hope they went with the "traditional" route and no abstract stripes/piping.
