Anybody remember Chalk Talk with Jackie Sherrill? On Mondays around lunchtime he used to do a students-only chalk talk. No media allowed. Damn, that's why they called him The Kang. He knew his PR. Anyway he always stressed downfield blocking. Said its the best way to make big plays happen. Get a speedy ball carrier in open space with some downfield blocks and you're always a threat to score.

Matt Wyatt harped about this at BDJ. He said we need to tear off more 50 and 60 yard plays. I couldn't agree more.
