USM fans fully understand that Fedora is gone after this year. His wife does not like living in Mississippi and wants out. Of course he would have been leaving this year even if Mama was happy. With the talent he is leaving in terms of quality and depth, a new young coach will jump at the chance to build his coaching record at USM. If Fedora hadn't been hard headed and would have gotten rid of his buddy he brought from OSU to be his DC, he would have a far better record to date at USM. Dan Disch, his new DC has been the difference this year.thedog said:
He did recruit very well for you guys and whoever inherits the program should be in good shape. It'll be interesting to see who the AD is able to pull into the program. I also have no idea why Fedora wouldn't get rid of Bradford either. If you score 40+ multiple times and still lose... whoever is heading the defense needs to go. That's inexcusable.
USM's best hope is to find another young, sharp, talented coordinator that they can afford and wants to come to a winning situation. Hugh Freeze's name has come up since he is a USM grad, but many USM fans are concerned about Freeze's love for TSUN. Like I said, I think it will be a young coordinator ready to make the step up.Incognegro said:
Don't laugh, but the rumor has floated around this week that when Fedora leaves, Nutt would be interested in the job. For one thing, I seriously doubt Nutt is interested and two, USM hiring a failed OM coach would never happen. Still, I got a laugh out of it.Bobby Ricigliano said:
Believe me, USM fans have understood since Tryone's days as DC at USM, he is not a good DC. Tyrone is a quality person, but he is not a quality DC, much less a potential head coach. The Nix USM fans would love to see return home is Derrick Nix, the rb coach at OM. Derrick is a quality person and a quality football coach.chew1095 said:
