My HQ is in the Eastern Time Zone, as well as times for meetings, deadlines, etc. Furthermore, I hate looking up the start time of a national sporting event (that doesn't list the time zone) and trying to figure it out. My solutions are on the poll.

What say the pack?

My Starkville office closes at 4:30. I hate coming in the next day and having a bunch of calls/emails from the West Coast Land of Fruits and Nuts that came in after I left because they are 2 hrs behind, PLUS, all of the over achieving East Coasties that have already emailed/called me before I get to the office in the morning. For those reasons I wish it was all the same. But since I am very close to totally retiring pretty soon I won't give a rats arse

I lived in Atlanta for year (April 1990 thru May 1991). I hated the eastern time zone, so don't move that crap here.
I did too, but I think the idea is with reduced times the tv/sports clock schedule would follow the central pattern.

The point of a time zone is to prevent the issues pointed out in the DST thread - daylight at 4:30....dark at 6:30 for some people in a certain spot. Doing thinks like the People's Republic of China is probably not a good plan.

I would accept a Pacific | Central spilt. I want no part of eastern. And it would need to be dead middle of the country

Doesn’t technology help adapt better than ever for meetings etc. when covering multiple time zones? Now, daylight savings time I could fight for.
Also, how many of you commies work 8-5 anymore? I’ve managed folks in each time zone. You grow up and adapt. The next thing you know you’ll be taking 2 months off for paternity leave.

Just one of many awesome quirks of the Newfies!
One of my good friends married one. I met her family at the wedding and my friend introduced me with “This is Brian, you will get along with him because he loves to drink and fish too.”
