should kick off after the Egg Bowl. No LSU, Bama, or Ole Miss on the home slate next year combined with the big possibility of having 2 FCS opponents at home would make for a perfect setup if we had to lose any seats for a season during construction. I know it won't happen but it would be a perfect setup. 2014 just seems like a long way off but it's money that makes the world go round I suppose.

Jackson State
South Alabama
Kentucky
Tennessee
Auburn
Arkansas
Texas A&M or OOC

The math doesn't work out. If the SEC expands to 14 teams by 2012, then you might be correct. They will likely go to a 9 game league schedule with 14 teams, but if it's only 13 teams, the SEC has no choice but to leave the slate at 8 games.

If A&M and only A&M joins the SEC, then you would either add A&M to your schedule and drop either a West or East opponent. 3 West teams would play all 6 other West teams and 2 East teams. 4 West teams would play only 5 of the other West teams and 3 East teams.

That's the only way to schedule it.

I don't see the SEC being that nimble to add both A&M and a 14th team by 2012. I have a feeling we would be looking at A&M for a year or two with negotiations and discussions on the 14th team to get them on board officially by the 2013 or 2014 season.

ETA: If you have a league of 13 teams trying to play a 9 game league schedule, that calls for a total of 58.5 conference games on the schedule. That's impossible.

Saying "this is how it would happen", which obviously could be BS....

I just don't see how they could go to 9 games for any portion of the league. That's the point. They'd have to modify the future schedule, and if you added A&M, you'd have to drop another league opponent.

One year we have three really solid home games in LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss. And then we get Auburn and Arkansas the next year. I do like that on the next two cycles that we play Auburn and Arkansas at home we have JSU and USM as home games.
