Raven fan here. Terrell Suggs was a 17'ing beast. Ask any offensive lineman or quarterback that ever played against him. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get in. Although, he didn't make it in last year, so who knows.

For the HOF voters that vote out of emotion, yes. But in the real world, a HOF berth is supposed to be reflective of a sustained lengthy career of excellence, not just playing well in two big games. He belongs in the "Hall of Pretty Good" right next to his daddy.

And let's be honest if one guy doesn't make an absolute circus catch in one of those games, he doesn't even have that on his resume.

He'll get in at some point though, because the voters can be stupid.
It's called "The Hall of Fame", not "The Hall of Good Statistics"

Stats matter. If you don't have them, you don't belong.

You think because Eli Manning acts goofy in TV commercials and football simulcasts, that makes him "famous" to the point he belongs in the HOF?

Definite - Brees, Fitzgerald, Vinatieri, Witten, Suggs
Maybe - Evans, Holt, Manning, Wayne, Woodson, Gore

Not feeling any of the others.
This reminded me
Someone posted Lamar Jackson was a for sure first ballot HOFer

is that a given? Doesn’t Eli have a better overall resume?

It is 100% a given. He’s won MVP twice. 2.5 times really, because he also won the PFWA MVP award last season, while Josh Allen won the AP MVP.

Nobody with multiple MVP’s has ever not gotten in.

I’ll bet he doesn’t get in on first ballot unless he ends up winning a Super Bowl.

book mark it

He won 2 super bowls for a team in the biggest media market. That’s where the fame that will lead to the HoF came from, and therefore the commercials.

Has any QB won 2 Super Bowls and not been inducted into the HoF?

You’re asking me to bookmark your take for, what, 10-12 years, on whether Lamar Jackson is a first ballot hall of famer or not?

I've already conceded earlier in this thread that he will eventually get in. Not sure where the passionate defense of Eli 17n manning is coming from. He was an objectively mediocre QB and if his name was Eli Morris we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
