Clearly? It took a last second FG to beat the Browns. I'm not sure the Ravens aren't better than the Steelers. I'm not saying they are, either. I sure don't think either is clearly better than the other, though.
Actually agree with this. The Steelers are not very good. Bengals are the team to beat but they aren't special either. It's a pretty weak division.

I'm high on the Lions offensively, but their LBers and DBs need a lot of growth and very quick. Plus Stafford is very very helter skelter, and it is completely based on double teams of CJ which would still be my plan if scheming us. Matter of fact I wouldn't even try to disguise it I'd put 2 men on him at the line and zone the rest of the field.

You can tell all of this from week one. I'm sure you were ready to pronounce the steelers division champs and possible SB contenders until Cleveland made a game of it.

Dalton played good enough to get no complaints for me. 300 yards and no turnovers. We left a lot of points on the field by having to settle for so many FGs, but i'll take a 7 point win on the road against a division opponent any way I can get it.

I don't care what anyone says.. Eli Manning might be the most overrated QB I've seen in the last decade. Those dumbass Giants fans were chanting "Elite!" for a good 3-4 years. Not only was he not Elite, he's nowhere near it now, with zero chance of ever getting near it again.

Wow, sounds like the Bengals game is going to be blacked out this week, they don't sound hopeful at all. Keep that in mind Dayton and Lexington people.

Good enough, especially considering he didn't have anyone left to throw to.

Became a victim of my own trap this past wk. Before the yr began I had the Titans going 7-9, 8-8. After the impressive win on the road over KC (which was a really good team last yr) I got excited and was thinking 9 or more wins......then the Cowboys came to town. Ouch. Yeah, I think we are middle of the pack as usual.

Blackouts are complete ********, especially for teams whose stadiums were built using taxpayer funding (like the Bengals). You shouldn't be punished for not going to a game if your tax dollars helped build the GD stadium.

I'm in a lucky situation regarding blackouts, though. I have two different CBS stations, and living in EKY one is out of Huntington WV (outside of the "blackout zone"). The Huntington CBS gives preference to the Steelers, but they always show the Bengals if the Steelers are on at a different time. The Steelers are playing in Sunday Night Football this week, and I checked my guide and they're carrying the Bengals at 1:00.

Forget the Cowgirls, how bout dem Bengals? They may get a 1st round bye this year. Totally unexpected from me. I thought losing both coordinators would make things interesting for them this year. Apparently not.

Not only are blackouts BS, but the NFL coverage maps bug me. I'm a Titans fan that lives about 1-1.5 hrs from the Tennessee border. Tennessee is a small market team, I know this but many times I can't get a game. If the Bengals are on, then they get the coverage......the Bengals are close and have a larger fanbase so I understand this and don't complain. But when games like Arizona vs NE get played over the Titans in this region.....it bugs me.

Bengals

Defense tightened up when it needed to, but gave up a lot of plays for big yards without Burfict in the lineup.

Broncos just got UK'd. Seattle allowed to call timeout after the play clock hits :00 from the six yard line in OT. Almost uncanny.

From a talent standpoint, the Bengals may be the best in the league 1 through 53. Which is really hard for someone like me to fathom, having watched this 20 year train wreck up close, but it's easy to see when you watch them play. Hell, I even think Dalton's got a litlte swag to him this year. Bengal's fan better hope so, b/c no matter how talented their team is, it's gonna fall on him to get them where they want to go.

Offense should get even better after the bye when Marvin Jones returns. IMO he's a better threat in the red zone than AJ Green.

What do the Titans fans on here think? Locker has 4 INTS to 3 TD's through three games and has looked generally terrible. How many games do you give him before he gets pulled for Mettengurger or God forbid, Whitehurst? I say one, maybe two more weeks......

If you're not at 3-3 after 6 games, I'd see what Mett can do. You probably lose at Indy, but then you get Cleveland and Jacksonville at home.

Locker will probably play 12 more years in this league...as a back-up. Dude just don't got "it", but every team in the league would kill to have him as their back-up.

Speaking of back-ups, is it Mallet time in Houston? If it's not, it's gotta be getting close. O'Brien knows Fistzee is an habitual bed ******* and with his history with Mallet in NE, you'd think it's just a matter of time. I for one can't wait. I think Mallet can play.

Like a lot of you I'm a huge bengals can but I do respect the steelers I don't care if they are 2-13 heading in to week 17 then can always beat you. That being said if they win tonight it could be costly especially now with Taylor getting hurt that looked bad.

I agree he'll have a long career as a backup. I admit I haven't seen a second of a Texans game this year, but I can still confidently tell you that it SHOULD be Mallet time right now. I've seen first hand Fitzpatrick lose us games as a Titans fan, and it'll happen to Houston too, just give it time.....

This Bengals fan agrees with the bolded statement. Fitzy is the definition of journeyman career backup.

I'm really excited about the Bengals because they're as deep as they've ever been, but given the history of awfulness/heartbreak, I'm trying to temper my expectations. I would love to win the whole thing, but just a single playoff win would make me very happy. I've been a fan since I was 5, they last won a playoff game when I was 11 and I'm in my GD mid-30s now. It's been long enough.

Steelers looked really good tonight. I can't stand them, but I do respect the organization/success. Every time I get ready to write them off as being "done" for a few years, they don't go away (except for the 80s).

Terry, don't do anything rash tonight. The sun will come up tomorrow.

- just saw the Blount run. Maybe the Steelers have been working on the ninja kick. Could wildcatdroppings have been right all along?

Big week in the NFL.

Bengals are flat out the best team in the league. Teams may have a better D, more explosive O or out play them on special teams, but I'd say they are top 2-3 I. Every category which no other team is close.

Kirk Cousins, clearly better at QB than RG3

Is there a good team in the AFC east?

Detroit had 3 TOs and still handled a healthy GB team pretty easily! As a long time Lion fan I'm shocked.

If Seattle has to play the Eagles in the NFC championship, and then beat the Broncos again in the Super Bowl that would be the ultimate test for their #1 ranked defense to overcome for a back to back SB victory.

Titans fan here.

-Defense: Run defense is not so great right now. Horton says that it takes at least 4 games before players start to "get it." So, the best defenses are ahead. We still lack a few pieces. We need another uber talented LB and CB. We would've been much better if we'd kept ATV.

-Offense: Pretty much, this is a QB away from being a playoff caliber offense. The WR/TE are good.....Hunter just needs to keep developing. The o-line is still slowly improving, but could really use QB running the show.

-Locker: It seems like coach Whiz is trying to keep Locker in the pocket more. Locker has been so fragile his first several yrs, that it's natural to want to keep him from running.....however, Locker's greatest skill is being versatile. You have to let him run......and also run the ball more in general which means he passes less often. I too think Locker is more of a back-up. So, is Mett the guy or do we look to the draft? Whiz likes big guys with strong arms. Mariota, Mannion, Hundley fit this mold. Or does Whiz go with a FA......Palmer, Mallett?

The Steelers were awfully impressive last night. To go into Carolina and put up 30+ on that defense is impressive. Great game plan by Pittsburgh. Screens and quick passes were effective against Carolina's defense. I was worried about the Bengals vs. Panthers game but after seeing that game I feel a little better. Carolina is certainly a good team but their OLine is not great. I expect the Bengals DL to dominate that game. AFC North race could be very interesting this year. Steelers can contend with the Bengals and Ravens for the title.

Personally, I think they are all "good" teams. Miami/Buffalo/NYJ have all gotten better over the last 2-3 years, while the Pats have come back down to Earth. It's no longer the dominant Patriots and a 3 other garbage/mediocre teams. A lot more evened out now.

Still think it's New England's division. Every Pats fan knew they would play down to their competition, and sure enough, they did against the Raiders

My Jets are hard to peg. I personally think they should be 2-0, and were certainly good enough to beat the Packers. But now the question is, how good are the Packers as a measuring stick these days? We have a great front 7, but very suspect in the secondary. And with Decker hobbled, we have zero pass game outside of many unproven players. If Decker remains injured, teams are going to stifle our run game

Jones, Eifert and Zeitler all being back and healthy will really improve the offense. Hard to believe the Bengals had 3 starters out for basically 3 games and still are 3-0. Hopefully Geno will start being Geno this year and Burfict will recover and be himself too.
