Have to ask.. that a government job at the time?I was in my office building in Newark and really felt it, could feel the bldg swaying. It did not take long for everyone to hit the stairwells and evacuate.
The taller the building, the more you felt it. On my campus, I was in a three story building so I was like, what was that? But people in the nine story outpatient building were totally spooked.I was in my office building in Newark and really felt it, could feel the bldg swaying. No not at all. I’m not sure what difference that would make. If you are in a tall bldg and you feel it swaying more than you have ever felt on a nice sunny calm day, you get out of there fast.Have to ask.. that a government job at the time?
What was the reading on the Richter Scale? The biggest one I've been through was 7.2, with aftershocks for a couple weeks after in the mid 6's. I also slept through one in Japan, but don't know what that registered.

Was at the shore. Was laying on my side, and then involuntarily got rolled onto my back when it started. Weirdest feeling ever.
I remember most people were like oh wow an earthquake and went back to doing what they were doing but some people grabbed the whole family and booked it out of there lol.
