When visiting the LSU boards, I never read that LSU thinks you are a rival. You used to be. They now point toward Arkansas and Alabama, especially Alabama since Nick Saban arrived. The overwhelming majority of the folks on this board are good people, we just have differing college loyalties. Many of you think if you ignore or minimize us, we will go away. We won't.

Here is a little insight to Coach Mullen and a little prediction. First, he is from New Hampshire and went to college at a "Little Ivy" school called Ursinus, which is the constellation of "The Bear" in astronomy. He got his Master's Degree from Wagner College on Staten Island, in New York city, which is also a "Little Ivy" school. He is highly intelligent, probably top 2% in intellect among the general population. But he is young, and very ego driven. Achievement means more to him than some excess of money. He says things not out of disrespect to other coaches, but to make himself the target, instead of his team. If opponents are trying to beat the opposition coach, they seem to forget the guy across from them.

Among his close friends in the "New Hampshire Mafia" are Gary Crowton OC at LSU and Chip Kelly, Head Coach at Oregon. He is going to talk to both Gary Crowton and Chip Kelly and break down all of Masoli's strengths and weaknesses. His objective in this Egg Bowl Saturday will be to force Masoli into his worst game this year. He knows Masoli is 80% of your offense. He will sit down with our DC's Diaz and Wilson, and map out that game plan. He recruits 75% of our players from Mississippi, so most of our roster is from Mississippi, not out-of-state, like yours. Our Mississippi kids know how much this rivalry means. They feel it down deep.

You had the far superior team last year and you got pasted in his first game against you. I would venture a guess, that in terms of sheer athletic ability, you probably are slightly superior this year. I'd guess you likely have more NFL draftees this year than we do. Powe, Scott, Laurent, Cornell, Summers, Lockett, Walker, Brown, and Masoli are all on someone's NFL Draft list. Yet, with a minimal offense, being almost one dimensional, he has fashioned a 7-4 record, while you have languished through defeat after defeat, while knowing you had superior talent. I think it is coaching, and I think we have the edge there, taking nothing from Nutt.
