It was a compliment. The only way it isn't, is if you are looking for reasons to be offended.
I cringed when I first read it, before there was any reaction. I am sure that he meant it to be a compliment and I am guessing Keyshawn does too really. But elite athletes think only of success and it's predictable they would bristle at any hint of crappie performance.

Did he overreact? Yep, but when you have the resume Keyshawn does, you get some leeway on "complaining".

Ringleader is not a great term though, it devalues what key Jr is doing. This is no circus act or donkey show. This is true leadership, bringing people together with a common goal in mind. Sometimes I think these writers use their wordsmith skills to create a little "dialogue". There are a thousand other ways Sherman could have made his point.

I meant he's like KB in that he's a drama queen with an enormous ego. Of course he was a better player. But his son isn't (yet). He's only a junior in high school, who will face a lot of competition when he sets foot on campus in 2017. He may even end up being the 3rd best WR in this recruiting class. Sr needs to chill until his son actually accomplishes something at this level, instead of talking smack on Twitter.
Fortunately, it seems like Jr. has his head on straight. He actually tweeted this 10 hours before his dad posted his tweet:

Key Sr is a vocal and public person. You had to know there will be some drama that comes with the package, perhaps in THIS day and age it might even play out positive. I can understand Sr and Jr taking some offense that a LOT of people are over looking his ability because his impact on recruiting. How many are talking about his film or special abilities? I've seen very little of it as opposed to his impact on recruiting, so I think the reactions are normal.
This is exactly what I was afraid of. You bring in a kid like that, and the potential for an enormous amount of drama exists from day 1, and the kid hasn't even signed his LOI yet.

Coming from someone mad the last staff got their comeuppance..... this is truly funny.
I agree with Timnsun here - If a little drama comes with these types of players it just goes with the territory - Riley has the right demeanor to handle it anyhow
There is no question at least some on this staff are making real inroads and waves on the recruiting front. The schools normally getting these guys will try anything to stop it.
I have been waiting for sometime to give this staff Kudos for good performance and they are killing it on the recruiting trail right now. If we can have the type of season that shows we are coming back it will only reinforce the excitement. We are winning some battles for big time players and this is a very very good thing
This could be nothing or it could be the start of a colorful relationship between Sr and a reporter. But i seriously think this will end up not mattering for much. Sr's been there in a much bigger pond -- people say stuff and it comes off wrong. Anyone who dealt with New York reporters for that long can handle things like this -- period. I doubt he'll take it too personally after the first impression even with his kid involved once he realizes how it was meant.

It was a poorly-worded tweet by Sherman, but Keyshawn Jr. himself said "I like it" 10 hours before his old man tweeted his response. It was a non-issue until KJS made it one.
Technical writer aye, okay. You should know choice of words to convey meaning, and most importantly, the correct meaning rather than word choice that leads to ambiguity.
I could call you a "hack writer", which usually doesn't apply to technical writers, but you could take it as a compliment. Sherman is a writer, does he know what "ringleader" means? He chose a word that by definition has a negative connotation. I don't know Sherman. Do you personally know the guy?
"2nd strike" is an "insinuation" not an "assumption". Tell me, just for grins, what value does a technical writer bring to an organization. I've always thought a technical writer was supposed to bring an attention to detail, identification, and selection of proper wording to convey a desired message. Insinuation and assumption have different meanings.
"3rd strike". KJJr has been recruiting for NU for quite awhile. "Likely" introduces a probability rather than a certainty. Now, maybe Mitch Sherman and yourself "KNOW" that KJJr hasn't contributed in the recruitment of any players, for which case "likely" would be a suitable word choice. So if you and Mitch "KNOW" that KJJr hasn't contributed in any recruiting, then keep on using the word likely. I think KJJr has contributed, so I would not use the word "likely".

People are lacking the reading comprehension to understand that he was giving KJJ a huge compliment.
It's not saying "he might not catch a pass." It's saying, "Zoom in on this and realize how valuable he is if you were to only look at one thing. Now zoom back out and add in that he can ball, too. That's what makes him so special."
