Now that Newton, Sr. has admitted to having his hand out, Bond and State's side is vindicated. Newton asked, State refused and reported it. To me, it actually makes Bond (and I've never thought too highly of ol' John) and Bell look good for reporting it rather than playing along. The heat will now be on Auburn to keep the actual money trail hidden. The only person looking worse that Cecil Newton in all this is Mike Slive.

The NCAA isn't going to pack up their ball and go home because Cecil admitted something to the press that they already know is true.

If anything, the admission tonight will lead to them picking up the pace of their investigation.

This is going to get nuclear ugly.

this is not a run of the mill player we are talking about. Nobody knew it when we first reported it but this issue now involves the best player in college football with implications in Heisman voting and the BCS National Championship. Ole Cecil would have been a lot better off with his sweet deal if Cam had stayed out of the limelight a little more.
