I don't know how much time he was going to see this year, but he would have gotten some garbage time in our blowout games to get ready for the 2012 season. We will be able to absorb this since we have some decent depth at RB. Ballard, Perkins, Elliot, Milton, and Robinson is quality depth. I don't want to have to use Milton or Robinson this year, but if we have to I'm not too concerned. Hope he can bounce back fast because I think he is going to be a great RB for us.

Hopefully, though, we can get him a Medical Redshirt in time, and he'll have 4 years to play.

As already stated, our depth for this season won't be hurt too bad.

I'm not worried about 2011 (so long as we stay health), but more so for 2012. Griffin will be replacing Perkins in '12 with zero game experience. I'm also afraid we might now have to play a true freshman this year instead of redshirting them.

I haven't heard how bad the tear is, but I remember Arnil Stallworth tearing his ACL in the spring and then being ready the first month of the season. There is no point at all in rushing him back since he's the number 3 guy, but if he's truly ready by October then you go ahead and play him. Thankfully we've got two guys in front of him that are more than capable.

I hope he doesn't take the Robert Elliot route to recovery and never be the same. I think Nick can be very good for us, and hope he is 100% by 2012.

For surgery. Don't send him to F'n Columbus for surgery. I wouldn't go to Columbus for any surgery, let alone knee reconstruction. Jesus Christ, I hope someone does the right thing here.

most orthopods wont let any ACL recon back to full strength training or competitive sports for 6 months. I don't even let them start jogging straight line for 3 months. Mostly thats due to quad/HS weakness. Also depends heavily on whether or not he has an associated meniscus tear/repair. If he can get a medical redshirt I'd take it.
