at least I believe he was- I might be wrong about that. And if there was one thing that really pleased me, it was that Tyler played better than him.

We will see what the future holds for both- both made freshman mistakes in the game, but Tyler certainly played better on this occasion.

Didn't Alabama land Simms last year? Saban knows that if he were to kill McCarron the other night, he is still loaded with talent. Tyler will be just fine, especially if we land the receivers that we are supposed to this year. Our line concerns me but time will tell....</p>

And I looked it up a little while ago and McCarron also was a US Army All-American QB, so he was even more highly rated than I thought. But yes, Saban and Bama are doing the right thing by loading up on talent at the QB spot. Even if they both pan out, if one goes down, it's good to have a good back-up.

I agree with you about the WR's. We are going to significantly upgrade at that position and we will also be deeper next year- which will allow us to lose a guy like a Leon Berry and still be OK.

The line concerns me too. Especially the tackle position.

McCarron is going to be the best Bama QB they've had in a long time... Kid is head and shoulders above 17. Best thing about McCarron is the Black Bears's were all over him and at some point Yancy's "contacts" said he was OM bound. They got Cotton instead. Worked out. I want to put this out there if you hate it or don't agree send it back. 34 may love this but Russell until he makes me eat crow needs to be referred to as 17. In the sense we may all be saying it a lot when he's in. In sentence "Bumphis fell but 17 that was a bad throw."

If so I think they may only have two scholarship QB's for the spring right now. Could be wrong. Also, It wouldn't surprise me if Saban did that just to say he has a better QB situation at bama then he ever did at Miami.

McCarron was a lot higher touted than Russell.

Saban would NEVER recruit someone just to say he had a better situation than when at Miami. That is retarded.
