I kind of wonder how much money these guys have left from NIL after one season.

jealously, greed, envy, lust and ingratitude are all vices embedded deeply in the current American sports culture

This is fantastic.

And he called out the parents too.....that was the chef's kiss.

If I was 19 I'd probably want to chase dollars too....but that's why these kids need grownups in their lives. Unfortunately, "grownups" are endangered species.

Yeah, a kid that plays for four different schools, who does he claim as his school, because he will be missing that,
and everything that goes with it.

Show me a kid that went to 4 schools and I’ll guarantee you his degree won’t be worth the paper it is printed on. Even exceptionally bright students would struggle changing schools 3 times. It’s a complete joke that a student athlete could learn much in that scenario.

I also wonder how they get around the 60 hour transfer credit rule that most schools have. You normally can’t get a degree from a school when you only complete 30 hours of credit there.

Are the transfer-happy players actually getting degrees? The student part of student athlete continues to be a sham. They only rarely pretend like they actually care, like how they chose to screw over Speavy on a technicality a couple years back.

I’m not sure if they are getting degrees. Based on most university rules, many of them would need at least two years at their last stop to earn the degree.

Chasing dollars is fine as long as it’s long term dollars.

if you are getting a big pay day from one school to another and banking it away, great.

but most of them aren’t getting that much and damn sure aren’t saving it.

I’m sure he would stay at NIU if another school comes with a bigger offer***

Why is he wise? Seems like he’s not aware of the current realities to me. You may like what he says, but will he win? Reality cares nothing about ideals.

Sounds to me like everyone longs for the old days gone by. As do I. But those days aren’t coming back and neither are the days of old men riding young people for their own benefit.
