Thanks for Tag AreYouNuts - I don't follow NJ HS tennis as I live in Florida but I do note some NJ players as they get recruited, and I follow RU tennis and love the direction it's headed (as I've mentioned before my daughter was recruited for tennis by RU, SHU and a number of other D1's but chose to focus on the DIII academics (so I would have to work for the rest of my life) and chose Middlebury - a perennial Final Four team. During my daughter's tenure so far Middlebury has had two top NJ players on the team - Kaycee Orozco and Katie Hughes. If anyone has any questions about college tennis recruiting I'd be happy to try and help.

I don't follow tennis much anymore, but was ranked in the Middle States as a junior. I was recruited by RU, but chose not to play...I mean ride the pine.

Yes, I follow girls tennis in NJ - my daughter played in high school and college and is now a coach of a high school team. Seeing some improvement in the RU women's team and hoping it continues. Top players in NJ continue to head to Michigan or Ivy League.

@zazoo2002 I was recruited by RU as well, but based on your screen name it may have been before your time. Coach Johnson recruited me in 1980, though I didn't play as I decided to end my playing career after high school (still regret not playing in college). I understand the impetus for Title IX, but it still hurts to see the upper courts, which is where Coach Johnson saw me play in a summer camp he was running, and where he offered me, now being used as a parking lot. The lower courts are still there, but the upper courts typically have vans and other athletics-department vehicles parked on them. If you don't mind me asking, who recruited you and what high school did you go to?

@RutgersRaRa - Yeah, before my time. Dick Johnson was the HC (and my recruiter); few years before Mickey Cook took over. RU was still in the A10s and the tennis complex - if you can call it that - was comprised of 'The Shack', with both upper and lower courts. Shame. NJ produces some quality talent.
